MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (July 7, 2017) – Junior midfielder Vanessa Flores of the West Virginia University women’s soccer team has been called into camp by the Mexican Women’s National Team.

A native of Bayton, Texas, Flores has been a fixture in the Mexican National Development Program, having competed with the Mexican U-17 and U-20 Women’s National Teams. Most recently, she competed at the 2016 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in November.

In two seasons at WVU, Flores has played in 23 career matches and started six, all as a sophomore in 2016. She earned her first career point last season, an assist on Michaela Abam’s game-tying goal at Penn State on Aug. 19.
