Defensive tackle Naquez Pringle (Fulton, Miss./Itawamba Community College) confirmed he's verbally committed to Kentucky, as first-reported by 247Sports.com.

We sure needed him. And he's more physically capable of coming in and contributing immediately than any of the high school prospects we have a legit shot at. Hopefully this guy will help make up for the loss of Melvin Lewis.

Pringle had an offer from Clemson. Clemson knows what a good d lineman looks like.

Just to clarify, these offers were when he came out of high school, two years ago.
but the talent was there to get the offer. the development is off because jucos just don't get the weight training, nutrition, coaching, and all around support that a d1 athlete does. brumbaugh has shown that he can coach up raw athletes. Z was about as raw as they come skill wise. melvin had also only played a couple years of football before going to juco.... same with cj, all athlete no football IQ. pringle has played football for years unlike all those guys. he just has to work hard and if he picks things up quick then he will be a more than serviceable backup to elam and meant.

Melvin Lewis? I thought he was still here? I thought we lost Johnson and returned Lewis and meant.

We actually lost Lewis in the middle of the year and only Meant returns of those three, Lewis came from a California JC so only two years. Hopefully Dubose and some others start playing up to their potential. hey, maybe Hyde even gets to play his position.

I remain optimistic that Dubose and Middleton will rise to succeed in prominent roles this coming season.
