He seems like a great get. I have a question on him -

Does he look a step slow to anyone else, or
1) Does he just "appear" slower b/c he's so tall and his strides are longer than the DBs covering him? OR
2) Is he just faster than he looks on film?

The only film was his sophomore year, so his speed/accelaration likely improved during his JR season. Again, I'm not trying to knock the kid b/c there must be a reason he's rated so highly, but I was just wondering after watching his HUDL film.

I should add the disclaimer that I neither played nor coach, so I am TERRIBLE at evaluating most things on film, but speed/burst is one thing that usually jumps out on film.

Runs a 4.52 I've seen and is the second best player on the state of Ohio. He's legit

thanks, I wasn't saying he isn't a legit player overall , but I've followed recruiting long enough to take 40 times with a grain of salt.... Was it hand-timed or electronic? If electronically timed, then I will assume he just moves faster than he looks.

Considering his size as a HS Jr, in the back of my mind I was thinking he could possibly become a Jacob Tamme type IF his speed was lacking.

Like I said initially, I was really only wondering about his speed (not his ability overall) after watching the film.

Great news but really only care about Dlineman... Every thing else is something every one else can get
I generally agree. We now have Yeast and Richardson as two WR commits for the 2017 class. Given the numbers for the 2017 signing class and the state of the roster, I would say this should wrap up our 2017 WR recruiting unless another absolute stud player wants to get on board.

As for DTs, we have Quinton Bohanna as a commit, and we have Jamin Davis as LB commit. Hudson is our only other defensive commit. By my count, we have seven offensive commits. The staff has done a pretty solid job of recruiting so far, so hopefully we'll see some defensive players added to the Yahtzee list.

Bottom Line - this is a very good get for the Cats. :sunglasses:[cheers]:cool2:

If we get Danny davis or the kid out of Florida I think we take 1 more wr. Yeast might play dB in college too. 17 Schollies mean no interior ol and a small lber and dB class too.

Good points. You gotta make every scholly count, even more so when you know you're going to be constrained by the numbers to a small signing class.

Or Therrell Gosier. He is still high on UK and is in Juco right now. I mean 4.4 and 6'6 you dont see that.

Probably #1. I always thought Randy Moss looked slow galloping down the field, but, he wasn't.

I agree. one more WR makes sense considering we basically have 7 guys that will be juniors this year. We Dont want to have to replace that many seniors with freshman on 2 years

This kid could play wr safety olb even tight end. Kids with his size and athleticism are rare. Get him on campus and plug him in where he excels.

We get a commitment from the # 2 player in Ohio with offers from multiple football powers including Michigan and our fans aren't impressed? Good grief. What would it take?

Agreed! Everyone knows we need to get some quality DL recruits, but I am sure not going to be disappointed when we land a 5.9 rated 4 star stud at a different position. Kentucky needs more talent and depth at EVERY position. Kids like this can be difference makers. I am damn excited to have him on-board and hope we can keep him.

Just watched Richardson's JR season HUDL - I retract any comments/concerns I had regarding his speed. To me, he looks way more explosive than his sophomore season (not surprisingly, but encouraging nonetheless).

Appears to be a great pickup... anyone know if he has a "recruiter" mentality a la Drake Jackson and Drew Barker to bring in talent to play with them?

This is great, but the class hinges totally on getting 2-3 quality DT/NT types. Got to stop the run foremost, now, then & forever.

Do you mean 2-3 in addition to Bohanna and Hudson? I agree they need to have at least one NT prospect each year, but Bohanna and Hudson project to the other 2 DL positions, right? Bohanna to DT, Hudson to DE, right?

Wonder if the coaches may continue to look at the JUCO route for true NT types, especially if they have 3 yrs of eligibility left?

They recently just offered the DL kid from Cory Johnson's JUCO in NY, right?

Yes, but a lot of schools have offered that DL kid from the JUCO in NY. Including the Alabamas of the world. For UK to get him, Brumbaugh has his work cut out for him.

The Provitt kid from OH originally is another very good JUCO DT we might get for 3 years if he plays well and makes his grades after a redshirt season. IMHO, we're sitting better early with DL recruits for 2017 than most years in the past.
