I was going to post this before my man @WVU82 beat me too it, but I can tell you all that facility was primarily for our our F-150 Lightning EV. Truth of the matter is they're not selling....they're piling up in dealer lots. We've had a some commercial fleet contracts we've been back filling orders with, but even with those...demand for these vehicles has been sluggish.

Primarily they are impractical and expensive...both to own and maintain. Ford won't be the only manufacturer taking a hit on these vehicles either....the EV market overall has been soft and many manufactures who invested billions hoping to capitalize on the much anticipated EV craze are now left holding millions in unsold inventory and damn near unrecoverable capital expenditures.

It's a mess right now, compounded by the scarcity of available credit for struggling automotive consumers who simply cannot afford these expensive vehicles without major financing.

Ford temporarily suspends production of all electric truck as demand remains sluggish

excerpt:
Ford announced Thursday will be pausing its F-150 Lightning production for a couple of weeks until the beginning of the new year. It is the latest setback for the F-150 Lightning, a blockbuster Ford product that has missed sales targets and necessitated cost-cutting measures and layoffs at Ford’s Dearborn, Michigan plant. The delay comes only months after Ford announced plans to scrap an all-electric sport-utility vehicle and push back production of its upcoming all-electric truck.

Electric vehicles have been at the center of the Biden administration’s climate change agenda through a mix of investments, subsidies, and environmental regulations to disincentivize gas-powered vehicle production. Auto-makers have responded to these incentives with billion-dollar investments in their electric vehicle fleets that have not always achieved profitability.

...“American automakers and workers are paying the price for policies that ignore real consumer demand and instead impose costly electric vehicle mandates. These one-size-fits-all regulations are not only straining manufacturers but also threatening jobs and economic stability. It’s time to prioritize policies that support market-driven solutions and protect American industries,” said American Energy Institute CEO Jason Isaac.

Thanks creepy Joe.....

Hey, I don't know anything about those EVs, Hell I don't even remember where I parked my Corvette?

So Kamala, are YOU going to scrap this failed "new green deal" if you're elected or is "nothing going to change" just as you said?

Well, what do you think atl? Ha...ha...ha...ha...ha...ha...ha...ha...ha...

Oh I already know 'ya cacklin' Communist....that's what worries me!

One final word about this EV story. Some of you Leftist Biden bots may not be aware the cacklin' Communist has once again "flip flopped" on her previous support for her administration's "new green deal" mandates.

(from above linked article)

The Biden administration’s electric vehicle mandate has become a political liability for Democrats, especially in must-win Michigan where auto-industry jobs are an essential part of the state’s economy and polls show Democrats and Republicans virtually tied in the presidential and senate races.

“Biden’s bid to mandate EVs is going to be the No. 1 business school case study of the problem with central economic planning — government picks the one size fits all,” said Steve Milloy, Senior E&E Institute Legal Fellow and former Trump EPA transition team member.

...more
Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic presidential nominee, and Representative Elissa Slotkin, the Michigan Democratic senate nominee, have attempted to distance themselves from the Biden administration’s electric vehicle policies to mitigate Republican attacks. Four years ago, Harris supported an electric vehicle mandate and phasing out gas-powered vehicle sales by 2035."

Again, how can you trust anything that cacklin' Communist says? First she was against the Wall, now she's for it. First she was against fracking, now she's for it. First she favored taxing tips (signed a bill to hire more IRS agents to crack down on 'em as a matter of fact) now she's for not taxing tips! First she favored de-funding police, now she's "all in" for full funding of police!

Hey Kamala...is it true you used to be against almost everything Trump stood for, now you're for almost everything he proposes?

Well I'm not Trump but I do like his ideas...ha...ha...ha...ha...ha...ha...ha...ha...ha...

I think you're just a lyin' phony 'ya cacklin' Communist!

Well...OK.....

Most US auto manufacturers were under an EPA mandate to have at least 20% of their entire US fleet EV powered by 2025. Dems are pushing for elimination of all ICE vehicles by 2035. Cacklin' Communist Kamala actually supported that until Trump started gaining traction attacking her over it (referenced in above linked article). Now of course she's not for banning all ICE vehicles (if you believe that I have some low level swamp land in upper Mongolia for sale) ;)
