Wow scary as hell, especially for someone so young and in such shape. Just goes to show, one never knows...

Define "His". More likely to be "Their".

I wouldn't say his career is definitely over, but it is definitely in limbo and may well be over. It depends on how quickly they caught the MI, if there is physical heart damage and the etiology of the MI. None of which we, the public, know.

FWIW, another USC basketball player suffered a cardiac arrest last July and he was back playing in January.

I don't want to start rumors, but whenever I hear about a young, affluent athlete with an unexpected heart attack I think of cocaine. Zero proof on my part.
You say you don't want to start rumors, but you just did. Zero proof on your part mean there's no need to mention that at all.

Then don't say anything.

Can someone tell me whether he had a heart attack or cardiac arrest? I'm seeing both reported here. I'm no physician but they are different, right?

Didn’t he receive $7 million in NIL money to go the USC? Wonder how those sponsors are feeling about that investment now? Somehow I have a feeling he will still wind up playing again if he’s good enough. It’s his daddy’s dream to be on the same NBA team as Bronnie, and maybe even own it. Ego has no bounds.

Not sure how much, but he has an NIL/endorsement deal with Nike.

“Cardiac arrest happens when the heart suddenly and unexpectedly stops beating. Blood flow to the brain and other vital organs stops. Automated external defibrillators and CPR are most often used to immediately treat someone who has undergone cardiac arrest. According to the National Institutes of Health, cardiac arrest caused up to 450,000 deaths a year in the U.S. It's different from a heart attack, which occurs because of an artery blockage but the heart generally keeps beating.”

(Everything I know about medicine I learned from espn.)
