It did snow in Orlando in 1977. I lived in Orlando in 1977, but moved away before the snow came. I moved back to Orlando in 1986, so I have never seen snow here. It was only a 1/2 inch or less in the area.

Ah, the summers are glorious, it's light until 10:30 or 11. The snow is far better than cold rain/ice storms/mud. It's not for everyone and that's one reason I love it. If I didn't live there I'd be in western Montana, Alaska, or Ontario.
That would screw with my circadian for sure. I like it to get dark around 8 at the latest. Up there's I'd be awake until 4-5am easily. Ugh.
Alaska would be nice to visit for while; not sure I'd want to live there.
I love snow, I don’t love driving and the logistical challenges it presents though.
There's no reason to lock-in on totals yet as this is still days away, but the trends continue to support a high to extreme impact event.

we had more than that in 1993. Electric was out 3 days. And a generator would only help until you run out of gas, because the gas stations didn't have electric either. Just like during the flood last year

Apple phone app now says 16-20" Saturday and 11-13" Sunday for here in South Central KY. Doubt it happens but if it does wowza.
Worst storm of my life was the huge ice storm around 2008 ish ? Everything was covered in ice for about a month. We had no school for months. So much damage from ice. Every tree was down. Power out. Roads froze. Stuck in the house for a month. Ice was an inch thick on everything.

My forecast for Lexington: 1 1/3 inches of rain, 1 7/10 inches of snow, and 1/12th of an inch of ice. Some areas of Lexington might see 1 9/12 inches of snow.

Agree with those mentioning snow over ice. The ice Lexington gets is something I never experienced growing up and it’s just awful.
I ice fish in below zero regularly at 9000 ft, still got my thang
So in below zero temps you go up a mountain just to cut down through ice to try to catch fish, and do so on a regular basis.... Did i get that right?

You take snow over ice any day of the week. Snow shouldnt affect power, but Ice will.

Not much of a cook. What’s your recipe on a big pot of soup beans? Sounds great and would seem not too complicated? Thanks
I just wing it, but essentially I soak a pound of pintos overnight in the fridge, then drain and rinse. Dump em in a crock pot with a chunk of fatty pork (a ham hock, salt pork, fatback, jowl bacon, etc.) and just a cup or two of water depending on what consistency you like (they will release a lot of liquid as they cook). Cook on low for 8 hours. Serve with sliced raw onion and cornbread. As with any beans, they are better leftover than the day you make them.
I hate cold but love snow. We rarely get enough snow here to do anything more than tantalize me. Pretty much expecting the models to shift to wintry mix here in Logan County. I've lived here too long to expect anything different. My luck would be 50 miles north of me getting a foot while I get ice.

Yeah that storm sucked, luckily we didn’t lose power here, but everything was frozen and you couldn’t get anywhere. I’m going to the store today to get a huge snow sled shovel and stock up on food JIC.
They are now giving up to 20 inches where I live in New Albany, IN. Holy crap

I'm in NKY and current projections are 8-11 inches in total. Going to be going to the store tonight and make sure we got what we need just in case the power goes out as well.

Weather channel is forecasting only 2-4 inches for the Richmond area. WTF, all the local guys are still in the 8-12,

One of those models is now predicting 3-5 inches of snow Saturday and up to 1 inch of ice Sunday where I live, which is almost certainly going to cause power outages and the low on Monday will be 3.
