meh
usually the worst thing about KY winters is people here wildly overreacting to KY winters.
I'm sure we'll be fine

Live in Welches, OR in Mount Hood national forest. This season as of today: snowfall: 0".
Hope I didn't jinx myself.![]()
By and large, the world is seeing a lot less snow than it used to. This has been an observable thing for decades, I've been watching it since the 1980's. The west gets nowhere near the amount of snow it used to, and it's been that way for a long time. Look at Denver and Aspen.Damn really? I heard the west coast has been brutal for skiing this year with little to no snow. How much do you usually get?
In the upstate New York region id say we are on par-ish. Probably 25" of snow so far.
So in below zero temps you go up a mountain just to cut down through ice to try to catch fish, and do so on a regular basis.... Did i get that right?
Need friends like you when crap hits the fan. If you do that for fun Ik you’re surviving. You sure got that rightI have been doing it for 40+ years, so I do more then try
. I'm having cast iron skillet fried Tiger trout shortly. They were still alive when I filleted them, can you say fresh
It was only 10° this morning, and good fishing. I have to waste some time on game day![]()
---Weather channel is forecasting only 2-4 inches for the Richmond area. WTF, all the local guys are still in the 8-12,
I still think we end up with NADA, nothing.
Can we be friends in real life lol
Well you would like the winters then. Before solstice it's dark by 5 pm, gets light around 8:30 am. An artifact of it being the westernmost area in eastern time zone. That would screw with my circadian for sure. I like it to get dark around 8 at the latest. Up there's I'd be awake until 4-5am easily. Ugh.
Alaska would be nice to visit for while; not sure I'd want to live there.
Glad yours is. Our are literally bare for staples. People are completely panicking.Made a final run to the grocery today. Well stocked. May pick up some Chinese take out Friday for the weekend.

Oh yeah.Nice, you gonna get the crab rangoon?
Here? All I see are folks reporting what the websites are saying.---
I agree TR, the "heavy snow" keeps shifting north & I wouldn't be surprised if it turned into an all rain event. The weather guessers here don't have a clue what it's going to do.
It's just drama. People get excited over snowstorms. One of the reasons it's so hard to find a job 16 years later.Glad yours is. Our are literally bare for staples. People are completely panicking.
Now we are hearing ice down here in borderland. I've lived through 3 damn ice storms, two of them major. Enough---

Wasn't it like 10 years ago where we had a winter in KY that "winter forgot". Talking no snow and temps as low as the 40s and that was the lowest.
last summer i definitely wouldn't describe as mildGlobal milding....?
If I buy a snow blower for my tractor and only use it once every 15 years or so, that's ok right?
last summer i definitely wouldn't describe as mild
yep...definitely sounds like something an old guy would say. you're not wrong thoughWhen you've lived long enough, you see highs and lows. It all averages out.
I love snow, I don’t love driving and the logistical challenges it presents though.

Doesn’t seem like where I am we will get the worst of it. I’m just south of Louisville. That said, look at the temperatures for the week following this thing. Whatever falls isn’t going to melt for at least a week. No highs above 30 and multiple lows below 0.
They have to be that way to keep as many arrogant buffoons off of the road as possible.---
No, by weather guessers, I mean the meteorologists.....all are buffoons of the highest order.
