Damn really? I heard the west coast has been brutal for skiing this year with little to no snow. How much do you usually get?
In the upstate New York region id say we are on par-ish. Probably 25" of snow so far.
By and large, the world is seeing a lot less snow than it used to. This has been an observable thing for decades, I've been watching it since the 1980's. The west gets nowhere near the amount of snow it used to, and it's been that way for a long time. Look at Denver and Aspen.

I agree TR, the "heavy snow" keeps shifting north & I wouldn't be surprised if it turned into an all rain event. The weather guessers here don't have a clue what it's going to do.

I’m in suburbs of Cincinnati. I’m ready to be snowed in. Just finished a recent trip to my local dispensary, so my stash box is full. Got a dozen bottles of wine in the basement. Got plenty of food in the house. Let it snow!

Well you would like the winters then. Before solstice it's dark by 5 pm, gets light around 8:30 am. An artifact of it being the westernmost area in eastern time zone.
Made a final run to the grocery today. Well stocked. May pick up some Chinese take out Friday for the weekend.
Glad yours is. Our are literally bare for staples. People are completely panicking.
Wasn't it like 10 years ago where we had a winter in KY that "winter forgot". Talking no snow and temps as low as the 40s and that was the lowest.
It's just drama. People get excited over snowstorms. One of the reasons it's so hard to find a job 16 years later.
Now we are hearing ice down here in borderland. I've lived through 3 damn ice storms, two of them major. Enough

I expect a statement of emergency to be issued Friday through Monday especially with the brutalized behind the system. People that lose electricity can see temps plummet to -10 sunday night and Monday. This can be dangerous for alot of the state.
Tools are tools, old or new. Just as long as you take care of them.

I'm scared the most about these dang lows n nashville 4 nights in a row. Gonna have my sinks dripping water and cabinets open 24 7 for 96 hours straight lol.
Yeah, we had ice 5 years ago n 2021 near Nashville and we were stuck at home almost a week straight.
Still saying 22-36" for South Central KY. I doubt that but we shall see.

No, by weather guessers, I mean the meteorologists.....all are buffoons of the highest order.
Doesn’t seem like where I am we will get the worst of it. I’m just south of Louisville. That said, look at the temperatures for the week following this thing. Whatever falls isn’t going to melt for at least a week. No highs above 30 and multiple lows below 0.

I saw on the weather channel Tuesday, they had a miniature plinko board with 0, 9, 12, 6, and 3, they were dropping little disks down the board into the numbers. I'm thinking that's just about the way y'all predict the weather!! Don't know how to post pictures of it.
