Man, that exercise was depressing.....

The first one I got wasnt even close to a town, just a random field with scattered out buildings north of Mexico City. Looked like concentration camp.

The next was a little town in Bulgaria, near the Black Sea and probably a 100 miles to Istanbul. As economically depressed as Bulgaria is I gotta feel my money would go a pretty long way.....but Bulgaria, damn.

If you have some coin in Istanbul you can have a helluva time. And when I say coin, I mean $100 American a night is fine.

Landed on a small farm about 40 miles east of Antwerp. Why not? Should be a lot of fun, probably wouldn’t come back with any money.

Maybe so...As long as I don't have to sit there and look at corn for 10 years. [laughing]
I did it for 3 1/2 years in Omaha, NE.

Waikawa, New Zealand (on the south island but just a ferry ride from Wellington). Not bad.

It put me on a dirt road in Kalofer, Bulgaria, a small mountain village. but it looks like a pretty nice little village, there are some bigger cities not too awfully far away. Sofia is a little over 2 hours away. My Fiance spent a few years doing mission work with orphans in places like Belarus and Romania, so she would be able to adapt us over there pretty well. I think the money would go a long way there and could afford us proper safety and security wherever we go. So yeah, I could do it.

Zlatarista, Bulgaria. Middle of nowhere and looks like it didn’t make it past the Cold War. At least I’d be the richest guy there.

I got Unnamed Road in Botswana.

I’ll go. $5 million should by the whole country with a few million to spare.

1. Got Hualaihue, Chile. Looks like coastal parts of Alaska.
2. Sarraguzan, France. Flat farming community not too far from the Spanish border.....looks like Indiana.
3. Zevenhuizen, Netherlands. Very close to Rotterdam and The Hague. Swampy, low lands. Looks like parts of Michigan/Wisconsin/Minnesota.

I would have absolutely no issue with any of these......but my preference would be #3, #2, #1 in that order. My wife would be fine with #'s 2, 3......but would have to be convinced of #1.......mainly just because it's so far away from the nearest good sized town.

What's the rules with this thing? Could we relocate to the random location, live there, but do a lot of traveling? Or do we "have to" stay there?

If I made the rules you would do things like you do now. Live there but be able to take weekend trips to nearby places. You could also take a couple of week long bigger vacations to see the sites in other countries.

The rules(since I started the thread):

- 1 one week vacation per year out of country. 1 one week vacation in country. Both can be split into a 3/4 day trip but maximum of 7 days.

- Otherwise local travel within 50 mile radius of location.
