I tuned in once and we were down 70-35 . . . didn't bother to tune back in. GOODBYE PARIS.
The FF appearance was an anomaly.Sad what this program has become since the Final Four appearance
I agree......no reason to put it off.Paris should be let go today!
I was castigated a few weeks back for asking if Paris would make it through the season.I agree......no reason to put it off.
So you've come around to my logic.I think all parties, staff, team, fans, Lamont himself, are aware that the Paris era is over. I agree, time to pull the plug; nothing to lose.
Don’t usually consider your logic but if it floats your boat, I’m ok with that.So you've come around to my logic.

Whenever we can him, we owe him 65% of his remaining contract.Anyone on here know what the buyout figures would be if terminated now, versus after the season is over ?
Whenever we can him, we owe him 65% of his remaining contract.
We raised him to $3,750,000 for the '24-'25 season, with annual increases of $250,000 so that his salary in the final year, '29-'30, would be $5,000,000.
Not factoring in the remainder of this year, if my math is correct (and it's probably not) we would owe him $12,025,000 for the ''26-'27 season through the '29-'30 season.
They were scared someone was going to hire him away, LOL.I don't know why you would guarantee annual $250,000 increases independent of job performance.
Well, you scoffed and mocked when I asked a few weeks ago if he would make it through the season. Now you're saying it's time to pull the plug.
You said "it was nice while it lasted" regarding my question on the apparent demise of his tenure.
I guess I should turn that statement back on you.
Don’t usually consider your logic but if it floats your boat, I’m ok with that.
I’m curious if anyone knows the numbers. Does the basketball program generate any money? I would think with NIL, Coach Salaries, Colonial Life Operating costs, etc. they would be losing money. If for nothing else something has to be done to sell tickets, let alone be a relevant, competitive program.
So, we were only one point short of scoring as much as the losing margin. Motivational materialI tuned in once and we were down 70-35 . . . didn't bother to tune back in. GOODBYE PARIS.

Wait till April and his buyout drops by $2.5M. This season is a lost cause already. Dead man walking. May as well save some money in the process. We have nothing to gain by firing him early, unless you know of a stud coach on the team or in the ether that could immediately take over and make something happen?I think all parties, staff, team, fans, Lamont himself, are aware that the Paris era is over. I agree with this completely. Firing now would be a costly, feckless blunder. Donati can still be angling to get a new coach. I'd bet the house that he already is.Wait till April and his buyout drops by $2.5M. This season is a lost cause already. Dead man walking. May as well save some money in the process. For all we know, Paris and Donati may have spoken and Paris has been quietly allowed to finish out the season, and a quiet search for a new head coach for men's basketball has begun. They were scared someone was going to hire him away, LOL.
He looks to be terrible but I don't see the upside in firing him mid season. Unless they can get a coach who isn't currently working, like Marshall, to agree to terms, they aren't even going to be able to talk to a coach until after the season. Put the word out that Paris is gone after this season and see which agents give you a call.
Of course, the most Carolina thing ever would be for word to spread that Paris was a dead man walking, agents would start calling, and Paris would go on a run to end the season but not win enough to get in any tournament. Then, the narrative would be "Paris has turned it around, we owe him at least one more season".
If it meant screwing something up, then sure! So, what you're saying is that Ray would have done it now.
He is not a thief. He IS a lucky man. This thief will walk with $10 million to coach high school.
If we lose the next 2 games Paris will have the same record as Horn through the same number of games.I waited until emotion subsided before I commented so I could comment on this with an objective mind. I haven't felt this hopeless about basketball since the spring of 1999. These blowout losses we've suffered the last two years remind me of some of the games from that season:
76-48 at home vs Auburn
86-57 at Tennessee
74-40 at Kentucky
89-61 at Florida
70-56 at Georgia
56-34 at home to East Carolina(?)
And the crown Jewel that season, and the only performance I've seen that was as bad or worse than this Florida game:
84-37 at Syracuse
When it was all said and done they ended up 8-21 overall and 3-13 in the SEC. I still am amazed that the even won those three SEC games.
Correction the Georgia loss was 80-56 not 70-56I waited until emotion subsided before I commented so I could comment on this with an objective mind. 85-50 to Mississippi State
80-57 to Kentucky
101-71 to Missouri
108-74 to Arkansas
And this 95-48 loss to Florida(gotta go down there to see them on February 17)
I'm right back where I was during that miserable winter and spring 27 years ago. Now as it was then, the only game day suspense I feel is "I wonder how much we'll lose by tonight?"
If we lose the next 2 games Paris will have the same record as Horn through the same number of games.
Depressing.
Horn was bad . . . it's unthinkable but Paris just might be worse. If we lose the next 2 games Paris will have the same record as Horn through the same number of games.

because ray tanner is an idiot!I don't know why you would guarantee annual $250,000 increases independent of job performance.
At least he has them within 15 today against a bad Mizzou team. So with only a few minutes left the may be able to only lose at home by 25.I tuned in once and we were down 70-35 . . . didn't bother to tune back in. GOODBYE PARIS.
Whew that was close. At home to keep it under 20!! Quite an improvement! At least he has them within 15 today against a bad Mizzou team. So with only a few minutes left the may be able to only lose at home by 25.
