Don’t know? I’ve just been reading that Iowa’s likely opponent's will be from the SEC.Are the Bowl tie ins still pretty standard from conference to conference with the new playoff ? You may draw an ACC team in Georgia Tech.

There is no 3rd sport.I’m not a wrestling fan, so I agree with you there. However, in the spectrum of popularity and $ generated..it’s football, men’s basketball, and women’s basketball, in that order. Your lame “dig” on Caitlin Clark is funny, considering she’s one of the few straight players in the WNBA.![]()
Not that it matters… Or is any of our business… But are we really sure about that? I’m just glad she was out when Indiana knocked my beloved Atlanta dream out of the playoff this year. I never would heard the end of it getting my team taken out by another Hawkeye.I’m not a wrestling fan, so I agree with you there. Why are you trying to get me to think like you?Yes everyone wants to win it all. But let’s be honest. There are only a handful of teams who are equipped to do so. So if you’re saying only 1 fan base should be happy each year and the other 130+ fan bases should be miserable, then that’s just sad. I don’t think you feel that way but it’s a nice coping mechanism so you immediately lump yourselves into the 2-132 fan bases. Life doesn’t work that way. It’s like saying you’re only happy at work if you are the CEO; if youre just on the executive board you’re the same as the minimum wage line worker.
It isn't, I have coached for years. 10-15 extra practices in December make no impact at all come the regular season.
It is nice in theory but it is just coach speak.
It is like lifting weights, if you lift for those 2 weeks and don't keep lifting, it is not going to pay off.
6 seasons? Why did you throw in the towel after 6 seasons?Does anyone - Husker or Iowa fan - buy for one second this person is a “coach?” As a parent I wouldn’t want my kids being taught perseverance and hard work by someone who so obviously wants to toss in the towel at the first sign of adversity. I coached high school football for 6 seasons and even if we were 0-8, I’d happily take one more opportunity to compete in a heartbeat. I’m confident saying every guy I coached with and against felt the same way.
Not to mention the whole “I’m the oldest son” / “I’m not a man” thing.
SuperBigFan69 is miserable. Not exactly the quality that screams “follow me into battle.”
I’m just replying to another poster insinuating that Iowa would never get into CFP. In the “old days” with only 2, then 4, having a chance it was difficult to get in. However, for example, during Ferentz’s tenure at Iowa, Iowa had three consecutive seasons ranked #8, so in the current 12-team format, they would have been in playoffs. I’ve heard rumors that in the future the CFP may be expanded to 16 teams…I’m not in favor of such expansion. You realize every single school can play the what if game? What if New Mexico State had won all of their games this century they would have 25 championships.
Yes, it is…all those years that Nebraska played in the Big 8, they generally only had to worry about the Oklahoma game (except for a few years when Colorado was good). It’s okay to admit….Nebraska’s all-time wins # is padded by wins vs patsies. I would say the same thing about Ohio State & Michigan when the Big 10 was the Big 2/Little 8 in the old days, b4 more balance came into the league.
I think playoffs should go to 16 do away with a bye week for 4 teams.I’m just replying to another poster insinuating that Iowa would never get into CFP. For me…in order…it’s’ MN, Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa St, and Nebraska.
They saw it in twitter so it must be true.OK. Also not true. But the clown I replied to claimed Farentz has won more games at Memorial stadium than Matt Rhule, which is ridiculous.
It clearly says “Big Ten conference wins,” which is absolutely true.OK. Also not true. But the clown I replied to claimed Farentz has won more games at Memorial stadium than Matt Rhule, which is ridiculous.
So now you identify as a spider???It clearly says “Big Ten games,” which is absolutely true.
Matt Rhule has won 6 Big Ten games in Memorial Stadium. Kirk Ferentz has won 7.
Something about that meme triggered my spider sense though, and I went back and looked at Tom Osborne’s record. Between ‘73 and ‘97, he defeated 11 Big Ten teams in Memorial Stadium, which doesn’t include Penn State and Oregon who weren’t members of the B1G yet.
Definitely BF. Iowa not hiring a dedicated QB coach was malicious intent and leaving it up to him was ridiculous. That changed when they hired Tim Lester at OC.For sure. I get that. I always thought it was crazy that Iowa and Wisconsin seemed to never be able to get a quality quarterback recruit in there. Why so many misses? Was it Brian F thing?
Good one, dork.So now you identify as a spider???
You said it! I was just repeating what you said.Good one, dork.
Didn't they have to set up some special hiring process so that your coach could hire his kid?Definitely BF. Iowa not hiring a dedicated QB coach was malicious intent and leaving it up to him was ridiculous. That changed when they hired Tim Lester at OC.
Also the QB recruiting would always come down to two guys for one scholarship. One guy would commit and the other guy would immediately go on to crush it at another team.
Pure class. Your mother must be proud. Sportsman of the year. You are everything that is great about college football.is nothing but drama. Your mentality is weak. Your fans are always living in fantasy land. Kirk Ferentz is your daddy. Put respect on his name. Give me all the next year, future nonsense you can. You are irrelevant in the cfb world. a laughing stock. The cupcakes of the BIG. Im here for it. Tell me how great you once was or will be.
You are correct Clark is straight, he dates that Mccaffery gal right?I’m not a wrestling fan, so I agree with you there. It's gotta be that Tranny @SuperBigFan69 right?First time I have ever had to hit the ignore button on these boards. Yeah, you know who you are. It's pathetic.
The last good coach to own Iowa was Bo Pelini. I think he was 3-1 against them. The kid at my bank on Friday noticed my sweatshirt and said he’s a Hawkeye fan. Asked me how we would do. I said I didn’t know because Iowa has had our number. But then he admitted that we had a couple of trophies. I said no, we have five. Iowa will never have one.
Why are you being so rude? You are a better person than this, I know you are! It's gotta be that Tranny @SuperBigFan69 right?
People need to keep in mind that he/ she has a mental illness, does not accept the truth, and thinks they/them can explain away reality.
I understand why other Nebby fans would want him/her to stfu, but as an Iowa fan, I hope he/ she remains your most vocal spokesman/woman.
I think he/she should be your mascot.
Did you not get the memo??Iowa is 8-4, unranked, and lost to every ranked team they played this year... Tell us more about their relevancy...
An Iowan is obsessed with anything Nebraska....
Typical Hawk fan. The only history that is relevant is what fits their narrative. Nebraska last played in the 2002 Rose Bowl for the NC, Last won a share of the NC in the 1998 Orange Bowl.Nope…just so long ago…they are realistic and know it would look silly to “puff their chests” about them.
You don’t know how any of the games are going to play out next year. The only certainty you know is that you’ll be munching on Kirk’s old crusty underwear.
It clearly says “Big Ten conference wins,” which is absolutely true.

He has been coaching for how many years??And our coach is the all time leader in Big Ten wins. And has more wins in Memorial Stadium than Frost and Rhule. Think about that. He plays there once every 2 years.
5 National Championships not just Big 8!!and there it is, the big 8 call out. me and the boys had a bet on this bs
I’ll admit not all of my work can be great when I’m bantering with so many Iowa Hawkeye clowns - ones that don’t have a life and probably spend more time here than on their own board. Can someone say Loser?
Fact: There are 4 teams in college football that have at least 8 wins every year since 2015: Georgia, Alabama, Ohio State and Iowa. Very impressive!
Times I’ve posted on the Iowa Hawkeye board: 0For a forum that does a lot of "go back to Iowa board" whining when faced with an uncomfortable truth, y'all sure do love bickering with Iowa fans.
After all that, It doesn’t change anything. Iowa is still one of the 4.Fact, 3 of those 4 teams have more than 125 wins, the other 97...
Fact, 3 of those 4 teams have won multiple conference titles, the other has not...
Fact, 3 of those 4 routinely compete for nattys, the other the Music City Bowl...
Fact, 3 of those 4 routinely finish in the top 10, the other has had 1 top 10 finish, while finishing 4 seasons, likely going on 5 unranked...
I mean, if you think Iowa's been impressive, you must have been in utter awe of NU and Bo Pelini from 08-14 as only they, Bama, and Oregon had 9 wins each year in that time span...
I mean, it doesn't change anything but that is not really a good thing for you. After all that, It doesn’t change anything. Iowa is still one of the 4.
Yeah Nebraska has sucked but please remember that Iowa only beats bad teams. Iowa has their own ugly steak of consecutive losses to top 25 teams. Ferentz really is Bo Pelini.Maybe someday Nebraska can at least be an average team in the BIG and understand their place. Next year doesn’t look good. No way is this soft a$$ team even competitive against good to mediocre teams. Fire coach, have delusional expectations, win off season, suck again, rinse, and repeat for another decade or two. A coach would have to be a complete idiot to consider Nebraska as a future destination at this point.
Not really. Gen X Nebraska fans have enjoyed multiple national championships.Nebraska is Minnesota.
Yep. Ferentz is absolutely Bo Pelini level.Fact, 3 of those 4 teams have more than 125 wins, the other 97...
