I was talking to a guy when I was running my dogs this week. He is a shirttail relative to my sister-in-law. This guy is the not full of hyperbole or a negativity. About 35 years-old and an assistant junior high principal. Went to Eastern Washington University so I don't think he has a favorite FBS school. I watched him when he played sports in high school. He was a better guard in basketball than WR in football. A solid smart athlete. Played at the 4A level, the highest in Washington. He was telling me how he does not like watching Nebraska football. He said they have no plan, no cohesion and make too many mistakes. Thinks they are a bad watch. It is sad that someone his age and who really knows sports has a less than favorable opinion of Husker football.

Maybe someday Nebraska can at least be an average team in the BIG and understand their place. Next year doesn’t look good. No way is this soft a$$ team even competitive against good to mediocre teams. Fire coach, have delusional expectations, win off season, suck again, rinse, and repeat for another decade or two. A coach would have to be a complete idiot to consider Nebraska as a future destination at this point.
True but Nebraska didnt play Oregon , Indiana ,Iowa St. Instead they got NW, Maryland and UCLA. That would be 4-8 and no Pizza Pizza bowl for you! Iowa would of had maybe only 1 or 2 loses playing your schedule.

Meanwhile, we were 15 points from being undefeated, wondering if we can get Emmet Johnson in the portal to run behind a real offensive line. Being unhappy and dismal all the time is bad for your health. Still have the volleyball team to rally around. Life isn't that bad.

I’d say he’s accurate. If we’re pulling receipts, Matt Rhule said we would have a dominant defensive line and we’d bring back the fullback, among other things. Not much of that has been true. He’s trying to curate an image that he thinks big time recruits will gravity to. Doesn’t seem to have much appreciation for the dirty work that is winning football.

There are some on this board who will never admit to any of that, but the first two sentences are very true. That's been proven out by the way that Nebraska has figured out ways to lose to Iowa over all of these years. Yesterday's game was the exception, Iowa was much better. But many other games, we've out yarded Iowa and just figure out ways to lose. That's the opposite of mental toughness.
Here's a stat- Iowa has beaten us 10 of 11 times. And in the one game that we won, we almost blew a 21 point lead.
I don’t have any disagreement with this. Iowa has a solid game plan that lets them methodically beat teams that are on the same level or even a little better than them most of the time. They have their identity. They definitely put in the work and develop. They limit mistakes. In many ways, our past is a dark cloud that follows us around. Current teams are nowhere near measuring up to the greatness of the past. We spent too much time looking back and not enough time envisioning the future. It doesn’t help that our leaders are horrible at identifying coaching talent.

I agree completely. At some point, we have to put the past on mute. Nebraska thinks it's better than Iowa and Minnesota. Yet, those teams play the same physical style that used to make us great. And we've lost 10 of 11 to Iowa and lost our last six in a row to Minnesota.

yes, we had a chance to win against two top ten teams with 2 min to go and **** the bed. Our combined losses for the season is a total of 15 points. To put perspective on that, Nebraska lost by 24 points just yesterday. We feel like it's the year that was almost. Can't do **** about it now except win our 9th game. It does not feel like you guys must feel though, like there is no hope. Happy Holidays!

Everyone around the Big Ten knows Iowa's upside is limited and there is nothing you can fo about it. Its mostly geopraphy. Having said that Iowa is respected by everyone. Anytime you play Iowa you know you'll have to work for everything. Tough, hard nosed, well coached. Thats Iowa. Nebraska is the village idiot.
