For the last few days….

This thread is on point. But I'm somewhat surprised that no one has asked the $64k question: might there be a reason that this particular song is stuck in your head? 📽️👯‍♀️👯‍♀️

Girls. On. Film.

Pretty much explains why it's in my head.

Oh, I get that. One might also be curious about whether or not current events fitting said description may have triggered the ear worm.

Great song. The same thing happens to me with Pet Shop Boys “West End Girls.” Damn that catchy cowbell during the chorus!

PSB are one of my favorites. Underrated IMO and very listenable - great fun songs with catchy beats. For the uninitiated, the extended versions of "Domino Dancing" and "It's Alright" from their "Introspective" album will get you hooked.
Then there is this little group who had a few hit records...rather appropriate song for this thread IMHO:

RO is a Duranie? Huh.

Save a Prayer.
You know, I never liked them when they were popular - during my college years. I was into the (now defined as) classic rock, funk - basically pop music from the the mid 1960's - mid 1980s (except country western).

It was not until later that I appreciated their muscianship. I was also late to the party with Prince (except Purple Rain, which to me is a blues song).
Having played some bass guitar in the last couple of years, John Taylor's bass work on this song is amazing.

Agreed. My wife was a Duranie, so I give her a hard time. When I call them a boy band, she gets a bit PO’d.

I was in middle school when they hit, and it was not socially acceptable where I grew up for a guy to like such music. However, they are much better than I give them credit. In particular, I like their James Bond song and save a prayer.
