Im telling ya'll there's gonna be a major epidemic of NIL athletes that can't adjust to real jobs. If they aren't smart with the money it's gonna be a reality check when their income decreases and responsibilities increase.
Ziegler is just who “They” picked. This lawsuit was coming and Tennessee is behind it. Ziegler is just the face of the suit. They are looking for any way to bend or break rules that will give them some type of advantage. Same as their state passing a law that says they don’t have to follow NCAA rules. They are all slime balls posing as College Administrators. Win ball games even if it hurts the university. Win at all cost. Can't blame the guy for trying, honestly. If your prospects were A) make $500K for another year of ball, or B) some BS for $45K, which are you choosing? We may not agree with it, but it's his opportunity.
Anybody know why they refuse to get rid of their crappy coach?
If this is successful the University team is no longer connected to a degree. It is professional sports. Instead of every 4 years new students get scholarships.. 35 years old men will have been in college for 10 years and produce one degree for our country. The mission of college is to educate our youth. Instead of having 3 people educated, you now have one. Taking all the colleges together in about 10 years, we now have 10-20 thousand less people with a college education. How is this hurting the university or anyone?
We just look at the entire world differently. No sense in debating. Agree to disagree.Lol, what? You think because basketball players stay in school longer people will have less college degrees? Wtf are you talking about?
Are you saying because guys stay in college longer there will be less scholarships available? We'll, in fact, the amount of athletic scholarships available for each team is in the process of being increased. Additionally, is there any evidence that suggest a Freshman at TENN. or any school is suffering as a result of players getting a 5th year amid from mere speculation it could happen? Last season, when we had a slew of 5th year guys, was anyone negatively impacted by them getting scholarships? Further, do these schools and athletics department owe these hypothetical players an opportunity if they can get better experienced players to return or transfer there? However, doesn't that just open more opportunities at the smaller schools and schools that lose players to the transfer portal or that choose to leave school?
Lastly, if you're concerned about this weird idea that there will be less degrees awarded, isn't depriving players of additional years potentially limiting them from earning dual degrees or advanced degrees? If degress and education is what you care about, do we want a society with less people with advanced degrees or with
Wrong thread. I meant NC's coach.Lloyd the bartender from The Shining
It will be just like pro athletes who never learned how to manage money, they went broke after a little while. They all have a great head start in life. Let’s see how they manage their gifts.Im telling ya'll there's gonna be a major epidemic of NIL athletes that can't adjust to real jobs. If they aren't smart with the money it's gonna be a reality check when their income decreases and responsibilities increase.
You’re verbose, but your inexperience is showing. This is not about staying in college to earn a degree. Most people you will meet with multiple degrees do not have good careers.Lol, what? You think because basketball players stay in school longer people will have less college degrees? Wtf are you talking about?
