Go show what you can do at Liberty and Im sure the staff will be on him if he earns it
He's been committed to Liberty for almost 2 years now. A lot has changed in that amount of time. He would be a good add to the team if he is willing to accept that his role at UK may not be as prominent as it would be at Liberty.
Carter turned down an offer from Overtime Elite. He has earned some of it already. What separates Noah from him regarding worthiness at UK?
Cant take every kid from Kentucky. Im sure the kid is a great ball player
Kids can hit the portal anytime they want to now. Kids that don't play are going to leave. If you recruit over players, then they can just leave. If you have 13 kids on your roster, some of them are just going to leave period.
It used to be, we would add a kid who did great in the State Tournament and he would ride the bench for four years. Kids like Troy McKinley or Paul Andrews or Bo Lanter, etc., etc. It no longer works that way.

We would need about thirty roster spots if we recruited every one of these type prospects that fans want us to recruit.
Let him go prove himself at Liberty, and if does well there, then maybe we can take him through the portal in a year or two. After all, that is the new “minors to majors” way recruiting works for players at that level in this new portal era.

But, you see, we already have a Noah. We don’t need a collection of them.
We don't even know if he wants to be here, but what does the realistically ideal 11-15th scholarship player for UK look like in the NIL-era though? We're not going to get much better than a 6'6" guard going to an NCAA Tournament team to fill that role. Overtime Elite doesn't recruit just any random kid, especially one from Ashland, Kentucky. OE is an offer that comes with a 6-figure salary. We're going to do significantly better than that for the backend of our bench?
Zander is not a SF, he is a true PG. Last time that I checked KY could use some guys on the bench that play that position this year and beyond. Carter isn’t Perry an undersized SG. Carter broke Ashland’s all time scoring and assists records this year and if you know KY High School basketball they have had some tremendous players over the years.
That’s tremendous size for his position. If he is interested in UK, he should get some consideration.

Noah was 6’5 and was headed to a P5 school as a SF.

Eastern KY bias ? Carter didn’t have a recent growth spurt and Liberty’s starting PG this season was Zander’s teammate at Ashland.
Well, presuming that actually is his college position …which is highly questionable. I just googled him out of curiosity, and it appears all of his recruiting profiles list him as either a small forward or shooting guard. For example:

His former teammate plays for Liberty, so there was a connection there. He's deeply religious (listen to him speak below), so Liberty is an attractive school for him. He's been loyal to his commitment.
This is really the best route for a lot of kids. Go somewhere that you can play. Put up numbers and make a name for yourself. That second or third NIL deal is what’s going to make them some money.
And such is the way of the new era of NIL and Transfer Portal. Gonna force more marginal but really good players down a level to prove they can produce before getting the callup to the big boys.
Where are kids with those names going to get more NIL than in state? Where are they going to get more co-ed’s because they play basketball? The only thing they will get is more playing time. I would agree with you if we were talking about kids who could go start at many other D1 schools.
His teammate at Ashland, Collin Porter, would have been a top 10 recruit if he was a couple inches taller. Elite passing, excellent shooter. But tiny. Smaller than Ulis tiny.
Yes. I don't see him as a point guard. He has game for sure. 2 guard or SF is his strength.
I will say he is a really good athlete and can shoot. A lot like Noah which is a good thing.
I'd love Uk to grab him but maybe he would be better off playing at Liberty for a year and then transfer.
Trent Noah was ranked as a top 150 in his class and is the 5th most all-time scorers in the history of the state. He also had offers from 19 other schools, several high majors.
Per 247, Carter has no ranking and no other offers.

Larry Coney going way back wasn’t too bad. Carter’s game may translate in college to SG or SF but at Ashland he plays PG. He is the straw that stirs the drink. Ashland basically plays 4 if not 5 guards at all times
