The Arkansas Razorbacks have their eyes on a big transfer portal pickup from an SEC East foe this week. According to Richard Davenport of the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, Sam Pittman and the Hogs are hosting former Kentucky wideout Chauncey Magwood on an official visit. Magwood arrived in Fayetteville on Sunday, per the report, and will leave on Tuesday.

Magwood played in 12 games for the Wildcats in 2022, finishing the regular season with 104 yards and a touchdown on seven receptions, good for 14.9 yards per catch.

His two biggest games of his career came against Florida and South Carolina this season, finishing with 47 yards on two catches versus the Gators and 37 yards on two catches versus the Gamecocks. He didn’t register a reception after Kentucky’s midseason victory over Mississippi State back in October.

In 2021, Magwood debuted and played in 13 games for the Wildcats. However, he caught just one pass for 17 yards versus Tennessee.

The 6-foot-3, 198-pound transfer will have three years of eligibility remaining to play at his next program. It is his first transfer so he will be immediately eligible to play in 2023.

A former three-star wide receiver out of Leesburg, Ga., Magwood originally selected the Wildcats over a top group of Florida State, Louisville, Nebraska, Arkansas and South Carolina. His former Lee County High teammate, Tyrus Washington, signed with the Hogs in the 2022 class.

Magwood was the No. 47 prospect out of the state of Georgia in the 2021 signing class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Arkansas lands Texas A&M-Commerce transfer Andrew Armstrong

Texas A&M-Commerce receiver Andrew Armstrong transferring to Arkansas, he announced Sunday via Twitter. Armstrong was among the top talents to enter this transfer portal, ranking as the No. 12 overall player and No. 4 receiver according to On3’s Transfer Portal Rankings.

Armstrong is a native of the Dallas, Texas area, attending Bishop Dunne High School. In 11 games with Texas A&M-Commerce this season, Armstrong had 62 receptions for 1,020 yards and 13 touchdowns. As the Lions played a full FCS schedule, he did not have the opportunity to go up against any FBS opponents this season.

Andrew Armstrong received interest from several schools after entering the transfer portal, choosing Arkansas over interest from MissouriMiami and Wisconsin to name a few. The 6-foot-6, 185-pound receiver was also named first-team All-Southland Conference this past season.
