3-star TE Khamari Anderson decommits from Cincinnati
Detroit Cass Technical three-star tight end Khamari Anderson decommitted from Cincinnati on Monday night. He was previously pledged to the Bearcats since Feb. 3.
Anderson is the No. 470 overall prospect and No. 25 tight end in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 11 player in Michigan.
“I would like to start by thanking Coach Luke Fickell and The University of Cincinnati football coaching staff for offering me the opportunity to play college football,” Anderson wrote in a statement published to social media. “Next I want to thank bearcat nation for your unreal love and support, you guys have made this process nothing short of amazing. With that being said I have decided to decommit from The University of Cincinnati and reopen my recruitment.”
Anderson’s decision comes after head coach Luke Fickell departed Cincinnati to become the next head coach at Wisconsin. The 6-foot-4, 230-pound pass catcher is the fourth player to decommit from the Bearcats in the last two days.
The others are Roseville (Mich.) three-star safety Amare Snowden, Naples (Fla.) three-star cornerback Jonas Duclona and Powell (Tenn.) three-star wide receiver Ayden Greene. Additionally, Youngstown (Ohio) Chaney three-star linebacker Jason Hewlett, who committed to Michigan on Nov. 28, decommitted from Cincinnati on Nov. 24.
Anderson has received 17 offers. According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, it is a close race between Michigan (41.7%) and Pittsburgh (36.5%) for his commitment.
A Michigan native, Anderson has an On3 NIL Valuation of $13.9K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
