CLEMSON — The face of Clemson’s recruiting class in quarterback Christopher Vizzina has officially signed with the Tigers.

Vizzina officially joined Clemson’s program on Wednesday after committing to the Tigers in April.

He has spent the past eight months trying to help Clemson bring in as much talent as possible.

The Alabama native chose Clemson over offers from Georgia, Notre Dame and others.

“The values I have match up perfectly with Clemson’s,” Vizzina previously told On3. “The culture, the things they are about off the field, the team rules, the environment, and the family-feel is all of what I was looking for. … It is the right school for me.”

Vizzina is ranked as the No. 6 quarterback in the country and No. 47 overall player in the nation, according to the On3 Consensus rankings.

He is expected to come in and immediately compete for playing time.

As a senior this past season, Vizzina completed 161 of 251 passes for 1,828 yards and 16 scores. He added 341 rushing yards and 11 rushing touchdowns.

Vizzina continued to impress after the season during the week of the Alabama-Mississippi All-Star game. Here is what On3’s Charles Power said about Vizzina after watching him practice:

“He showed the arm and physical skill set that made him a national recruit at the position. The 6-foot-4, 205-pounder made a number of nice downfield throws on Tuesday night and continued to show the ability to drive the football vertically on Wednesday. … The top 100 prospect’s physical tools were apparent over the two practices.”

On3 Scouting report on Clemson QB Christopher Vizzina

Quarterback with translatable tools and the best feet among top signal callers in the 2023 cycle. Has ideal size at 6-foot-3, 195 pounds. Consistently shows twitchy, explosive movements in his lower body. Plays with outstanding feet and has some of, if not the best pocket movement and awareness of top quarterbacks in the 2023 cycle.

A loose, athletic mover. Comfortable stepping up into the pocket or moving outside to escape pressure. Shows a strong arm in game and camp settings. Primarily delivers from the same arm slot on most passes. Was among the more efficient passers among top 2023 quarterbacks as a junior, though he did not have quite the number of attempts as many others.

Has the burst and top-end play speed to present a considerable run threat, rushing for 15 touchdowns as a junior. Shows the speed to pull away against one of the faster high school teams in the Southeast. Plays against some of the stronger competition among top quarterbacks nationally.

Still relatively new to the position after starting to play quarterback as a 9th grader. Also significantly younger than many other top quarterbacks with an April birthday.
