Deion Sanders’ arrival at Colorado has brought a national spotlight upon Boulder. Now, he wants to put on a show with the Buffaloes as soon as this year while they have everyone’s attention rather than waiting for the success to come.

Sanders explained his confidence during a sit-down interview with Joel Klatt for FOX Sports. He said that the high expectations are more than justified as he has every intention of microwaving his new program to success rather than slow cooking it.

“Why not think like that?,” asked Sanders during the interview. “I want it all. I don’t want a sip. Baby, I want it all. I want to get full. I don’t want a sip, I don’t want a spoon. Give me it all, man.”

“I don’t need no pot pie where I’ve got to put it in for 45 minutes, take it out and poke the holes, blow on it for another 15 minutes and wait for it to cool off. I ain’t got time for that process,” Sanders said. “I want it now. I want it all. And I feel like we’re assembling the type of young men and the staff to have it. I really do.”

Those are big-time words straight from Coach Prime’s mouth.

Even so, speaking things into existence is something he has proven to be good at, especially considering Jackson State’s record with him in charge. In his two full seasons with the Tigers, Sanders got after it right away with a 23-3 overall record.

Replicating that kind of success again with Colorado in the Pac-12 isn’t going to be as simple. Their conference schedule already features Oregon, USC, UCLA, and Utah before you consider their first two-games against national runner-up TCU as well as Nebraska.

Still, who’s to say Sander’s is wrong? Colorado could very obviously flounder considering their matchups as well as how their roster was built. With that said, Sanders is as uber confident as ever and, until proven wrong, the Buffaloes have no issue following his lead into his era with the program.

Sanders explains taking Colorado job

Deion Sanders took the Colorado football job knowing full well it was a great challenge to resurrect a team at the bottom of the Pac-12.

After great success at Jackson State, Sanders immediately went to the Power Five and brought his luggage (transfers) with him, including his son and quarterback Shedeur Sanders and former top prospect and two-way star Travis Hunter. But still, Colorado wasn’t exactly ripe for success lately.

Sanders wanted to change all of that, which he explained to Fox Sports’ Joel Klatt.

“First of all, our beloved AD Rick George gave me a tremendous opportunity,” Sanders said. “He laid something in front of me and I saw candidly, they need. I’m a need to be needed type of person … There was a tremendous need, a tremendous want, a tremendous desire of excellence. I love that challenge. That’s what wakes me up in the morning, that’s what gets me going. “

“That’s what makes me start moving and bouncing. Here comes an opportunity for another challenge. Why do you think I went from Atlanta to San Francisco, San Francisco to Dallas? The challenge. I thrive on it and that type of stuff and I love it. And he gave me this opportunity and I took it and ran with it.”
