Less than two weeks after reopening his recruitment, Crystal Springs (Miss.) 2022 four-star EDGE Trevion Williams has officially decommitted from Florida State.

The news was confirmed by 247 Sports.

The decommitment is not surprising after Williams told the Clarion Ledger on Oct. 8 that he would be backing off of his commitment to Seminoles. He did not say he was decommitted at the time, but it felt like the only logical step.

“I had my options weighed and I’ve sort of backed off of FSU a little bit to weigh my options again,” Trevion Williams said at the time. “I’m trying to stay close to home. Or if I can get a better offer for what I feel like is best for me to get to the next level.”

Trevion Williams is another sign that Florida State’s recruiting class is cracking

It has been a rough season on the field, and a rough time on the recruitin g trail for Florida State over the last few weeks.

It started with Trevion Williams’ announcement about reopening his recruitment. Then Memphis (Tenn.) IMG Academy four-star interior offensive lineman Aliou Bah decommitted from Florida State and committed to Georgia within a few day span.

Lakeland (Fla.) Lake Gibson four-star safety Sam McCall told On3’s Chad Simmons that he is keeping his options open despite his commitment.

On top of all of that, Georgia is going all-in trying to flip No. 2 overall recruit Travis Hunter out of Suwanee (Ga.) Collins Hill. Hunter’s been on visits to Georgia two of the past three weeks and Smart visited Collins Hill this past weekend with a major flex.
