Lee’s Summit (Mo.) North four-star wide receiver Isaiah Mozee trimmed down his recruitment at the end of October, announcing his top eight schools.

Three programs have had the 6-foot, 190-pounder on campus the most — one of which is Nebraska. The Cornhuskers are set to welcome the wideout back to Lincoln this weekend, according to On3’s Chad Simmons.

Matt Rhule and the Huskers first had the blue-chipper on campus two years ago. He’s continued to return, including making trips last March and November. As the heat turns up on the 2025 cycle, Nebraska is looking to keep things trending in a good direction with Mozee.

Mozee is now the No. 106 overall prospect and No. 13 WR in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the top-ranked player in Missouri.

Oklahoma, Missouri also pushing for Mozee

Competition will remain stout for Mozee until he puts pen to paper and signs his National Letter of Intent. Nebraska will look to be a frontrunner in his recruitment, as will Oklahoma and Missouri.

Mozee’s father and head coach at Lee’s Summit North, Jamar, played at Oklahoma. The Sooners have also created a pipeline from the Kansas City metro school to Norman. Three-star defensive lineman Ka’Mori Moore is already committed to Brent Venables and Co. as a part of the 2025 class.

“I like Oklahoma a lot. Shoot, Oklahoma is definitely one of my top schools right now,” Mozee told Sooner Scoop in August. “That’s my guy. I like Emmett (Jones). That hire was a big hire for Oklahoma. He’s really cool. The fundamentals, but he’s a real genuine dude. Even outside of football, he’ll text me ‘what’s up’ or ‘how you doing’ or just clips to work on my game. So I like Emmett a lot.”

It was Mizzou that claimed the big recruiting win out of Lee’s Summit during the 2024 cycle, however. Five-Star Plus+ EDGE Williams Nwaneri — the No. 2 overall prospect in the On3 Industry Ranking — chose the Tigers over the Sooners and Georgia. Eli Drinkwitz is looking to keep things going with the in-state recruits, as he was at Lee’s Summit on Thursday to visit with Mozee.

Nebraska looking to take recruiting momentum into 2025 cycle

All eyes in the recruiting world were on Nebraska in the lead-up to Early National Signing Day. The Huskers managed to flip five-star quarterback Dylan Raiola from Georgia, catapulting the recruiting class — which is now No. 22 in the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.

Now, Rhule and his staff are looking to carry that late momentum into the 2025 cycle. Nebraska’s junior class currently features four commits — all of whom are three-stars, including Omaha (Neb.) Millard North safety Caden VerMaas and Omaha (Neb.) North DL Tyson Terry.

Mozee would be a major addition for the Huskers and would continue to show improvement on the recruiting front. Arkansas, Oregon, Kansas, Tennessee and Georgia were also named in Mozee’s top eight last fall.
