Nebraska head coach Scott Frost has a big job ahead of him after finishing 3-9 in 2021. Despite concerns about his own future with his program, the Cornhuskers coach thanked the Big Ten Conference leadership for their work in adding USC and UCLA in 2024.

“There’s a lot of changes right now and we have to be light on our feet to make sure that we’re trying to take advantage of every change that happens and position ourselves in a good place,” Frost said. “I just want to compliment the league and the leadership of the league. I think everybody can see the landscape changing and this move pretty much ensures that we’re out in front of it and relevant in college football no matter where it all ends up.”

Frost says he’s looking forward to coaching against the Trojans and the Bruins. He also hinted at potentially even more moves from the conference in the future.

“I’ve coached against those two teams before and I think they’ll be great additions to the league,” Frost said. “Looking forward to this year and beyond and seeing where the whole thing lands when the dust settles.”

Big Ten commissioner Kevin Warren also addressed future expansion at Big Ten Media Days.

“We will not expand just to expand,” Warren said. “It will be strategic. It will add additional value to our conference and it will provide an even larger platform for our student-athletes to build their careers and have an opportunity to grow and learn.”

Las Vegas releases early point spreads for 5 Nebraska games

Head coach Scott Frost is in need of a bounceback season, at least on the record book. While Nebraska may have been in close contests each week, only getting three wins is not where fans expected the program to be this late in the Frost era.

Even so, there is thought this could be the year and get back over .500 for the first time since 2016. But sportsbooks may not totally be on board with this thought.

Las Vegas has released early point spreads for five games on Nebraska’s schedule, with the Cornhuskers being underdogs in all but one. An important old-school rivalry against Oklahoma is the only non-conference game listed, while crucial Big Ten games are on there as well.
