Recruits are starting to lock in official visits for the summer. Official visits can start in April, and a few are taken in the spring, but the bulk are taken in the month of June as summer heats up. Onis Konanbanny is expected to be busy all four weekends in June with official visits and he has locked in one with Mack Brown and the North Carolina Tar Heels.

The 6-foot-2, 170-pound four-star cornerback out of Columbia (S.C.) Heathwood Hall Episcopal School has already visited Chapel Hill three times and he will return for an official visit on June 7-9.

Konanbanny released a Top 10 earlier this year and the Tar Heels are high on that list. It is because of the relationships he has developed with the coaches and how he feels around the players. His lead recruiter is Jason Jones.

“Our connection is so special,” Konanbanny told On3. “You know it’s special when we call or text each other and it’s not about football anymore. When me and Coach Jones talk now, it’s about life and other things. I love the way he knows his players inside out and the way he coaches them.”

The relationship with Jones is strong. Konanbanny called Coach Brown ‘the man’ and the two have a strong connection as well. That will be important in the end when Konabanny commits later this summer.

“It will come down to relationships, development and degree,” Konabanny said about his decision in a recent interview.

He will take numerous official visits before he makes that decision. Since releasing his Top 10, Miami and South Carolina have jumped into the race. Konanbannyu is considering both for official visits. He is close to locking in a visit with Penn State.

Konabanny is the No. 251 prospect in the 2025 On3 Industry Ranking
