Columbia (S.C.) Heathwood Hall Episcopal cornerback Onis Konabanny has over 30 scholarship offers. Schools nationwide are in pursuit of the 6-foot-2, 170-pound four-star junior. He has visited over half a dozen schools, coaches have established relationships with the No. 245 prospect in the 2025 On3 Industry Rankings and he has announced his Top 10 schools.

Florida State, LSU, Michigan, North Carolina, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oregon, Penn State, Tennessee and USC made the list.

“I have great relationships with all those schools,” Konanbanny told On3. “Each school plays great defense, develops cornerbacks like me, and most importantly, offers great degrees that can set me up for life. Those are the reasons those 10 schools are on top.”

Out of the 10 schools on Konanbanny’s list, he has visited half. The No. 28 cornerback in the country has taken trips to Tallahassee, Ann Arbor, Chapel Hill, Columbus and Happy Valley. He is working on locking in dates to return to North Carolina and he is eyeing a first visit to Knoxville.

Konanbany’s list is not final. Cincinnati and Miami are two more schools on his radar that he could visit the first part of 2024.

In the end, he is working to decide before his senior year.

“I want to commit by the summer,” Konanbanny said. “It will come down to relationships, development and degree.”

Konanbanny shares his thoughts on Michigan

“I’ve been keeping in touch with them,” Konanbanny told EJ Holland of TheWolverine.com in a previous interview. “They’ve been sending me messages. They’ll call every once in a while. I’ve been talking to (wide receiver commit) Channing Goodwin, too. He’s been trying to get me on with them.”

Konanbanny is originally from London and works closely with Brandon Collier, founder of PPI Recruits and the go-to source for overseas prospects.

Collier has a great relationship with Michigan and has mentored the likes of former defensive lineman Julius Welschof, 2023 EDGE signee Aymeric Koumba and 2024 defensive line commit Manuel Beigel.

That connection should Michigan in this recruitment as should Konanbanny’s friendship with U-M tight end and Germany native Marlin Klein.

“He’s like an older brother and a mentor,” Konanbanny said. “He’s been telling me that it’s home and not like the other colleges. He said Michigan is just different. They don’t sell lies. It’s real. He said it feels like home.”
