Elmhurst (Ill.) York Community defensive lineman Joseph Reiff has committed to Notre Dame.

The 6-foot-5, 230-pounder chose the Fighting Irish while holding offers from the likes of Iowa, Northwestern and Purdue.

Reiff is the No. 391 overall prospect in the 2025 cycle, per the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 40 DL and No. 11 player in Illinois.

Reiff was in South Bend over the weekend to watch the Fighting Irish take on Ohio State. He’s made three trips to campus in total. He was offered by Marcus Freeman and Co. in June, then returned for a trip at the end of July.

“It was a little bit surreal for me and my immediate family,” Reiff previously told Blue & Gold regarding his scholarship offer from Notre Dame. “It was an incredible blessing.”

Defensive line coach Al Washington has helped lead Notre Dame’s recruitment of the lineman. Reiff is already the sixth pledge for ND’s 2025 class.

Reiff does not currently have a publicly listed On3 NIL Valuation. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

Notre Dame caps off huge week for 2025 class

Reiff is the cherry on top for what was a big week on the recruiting trail in South Bend. He’s the fourth pledge of the week for the Irish, following Lucedale (Miss.) George County four-star quarterback Deuce Knight, Highland Home (Ala.) four-star EDGE C.J. May and Bryant (Ark.) three-star running back Daniel Anderson.

Knight kicked the week off on Sept. 18, committing following a visit of his own. He is the No. 39 overall prospect and No. 3 QB in the 2025 class. May is the second highest-ranked commit, checking in as the No. 232 prospect and No. 19 EDGE. Tampa (Fla.) Jesuit four-star running back Justin Thurman is also a top-300 pledge following his commitment at the beginning of August.

The six total commits give Notre Dame the No. 6 overall class in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Ranking. Only Alabama, Georgia, Oregon, LSU and Oklahoma currently rank ahead of the Irish.
