Merrillville (Ind.) Andrean four-star linebacker Drayk Bowen is a top-100 defensive prospect in the 2023 class. However, the Notre Dame commit is a player to watch when he runs the ball.

In a 48-29 playoff win over Fort Wayne (Ind.) Fort Wayne Bishop Luers, Bowen ran for 358 yards and five touchdowns, according to David P. Funk. He achieved these marks on 35 carries.

The 6-foot-1.5, 215 pound prospect is the No. 88 overall prospect and No. 6 linebacker in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 1 player in Indiana.

The Indiana native has an On3 NIL Valuation of $146K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

Drayk Bowen On3 Scouting Summary

The following is the On3 Scouting Summary for Drayk Bowen:

“Two-sport superstar for Indiana football and baseball state champion Andrean who’s violent in the box as a linebacker and as a running back. Totaled 105 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, 3 sacks and 3 interceptions on defense. Carried the ball 155 times for 965 yards and 18 touchdowns on offense during his junior campaign. Downhill thumper that beats ball carriers to the spot. Excellent instincts and ability to trigger. Effective blitzer and spy player.

“Has some hip stiffness to him. Overall athleticism shines on tape but unverified long speed is the biggest question mark. Heady player who will anchor a defense at the next level. Top speed development will determine NFL potential. Middle infielder who is committed to play baseball at the next level along with football. One of the older players in the 2023 recruiting cycle.”
