Ohio State vs. Penn State score predictions

It seems likely that Ohio State will be without two of its top players when the Buckeyes host Penn State on Saturday afternoon.

Running back TreVeyon Henderson and cornerback Denzel Burke will likely miss the game, according to On3’s Spencer Holbrook. Both were originally listed as “out” on the injury report, per Holbrook. An update to the injury report listed Henderson as questionable and Burke as out.

Henderson will miss his third straight game, if he is indeed out. He has not played in nearly a month — since the Buckeyes beat Notre Dame on Sept. 23.

While Henderson was originally listed as “out” on the injury report, Buckeyes head coach Ryan Day told ESPN that Henderson will be a gametime decision, according to Pete Thamel.

As for Burke, he was banged up during last week’s win over Purdue. According to Holbrook, he first went to the medical tent, before heading to the locker room.

So far this season, TreVeyon Henderson has 44 carries for 295 yards and five touchdowns. He is averaging 6.7 yards per carry. He also has three catches for 45 yards.

Denzel Burke has 8 tackles, 1 tackle for loss, an interception and eight pass breakups.

Ohio State coach Ryan Day anticipates what he’ll learn about Kyle McCord against Penn State

Whether or not TreVeyon Henderson is available against Penn State, the Buckeyes will need Kyle McCord to play well at quarterback to come out on top.

Day is confident in his quarterback and spoke on ESPN College GameDay Saturday morning about what he anticipates he’ll learn about McCord against the Nittany Lions.

“Yeah, well, it’s the middle of the season, but you know, having already played a top 10 matchup, there’s things that from that moment, we could keep tweaking and grow upon,” Day said on College GameDay.

“But the things that we did well, you got to enhance the things that we need to improve on, you got to improve on and so at least it’s a reference point there to build upon. I think we’re growing every single week. We gotta play our best football today.”

In six games as the starter, McCord has 1,651 yards, 11 touchdowns, one interception and a 64.1% completion percentage.

Day knows what’s at stake for Saturday’s showdown.

“Well, you know, every time you come out to play a game, it’s an opportunity to prove somebody right and prove somebody wrong,” Day said. “And so you work so hard for a week like this, you have to maximize every single minute of your week.
