Ohio State will have one of its top playmakers available for this year’s Cotton Bowl matchup against Missouri, with running back TreVeyon Henderson set to play, according to a report from Lettermen Row.

Henderson ran for 854 yards and 11 touchdowns this season, bouncing back after injuries hampered his 2022 campaign.

He has yet to make an NFL Draft decision, but he plans to play against the Tigers.

“I haven’t made my decision yet,” Henderson said. “So I’m not sure what I’ll be doing. But, really, I’ve just been praying on it.

“Of course, you’ve got all these worries that come up: What if I get injured? What if this happened? But I gave all those worries to God. And he led me to make that decision to play in this game to glorify him and to be out there for my brothers.”

Henderson missed three games this season due to injury, or his numbers might be even better.

His decision to play means it should be a pretty good matchup on the ground on Friday night. Missouri features the nation’s leading rusher, tailback Cody Schrader, who has run for 1,489 yards and 13 touchdowns this year.

Ohio State’s CFP chances came down to one game, and the Buckeyes didn’t come out on top. However, a six-point loss to the No. 1 overall seed in the CFP doesn’t make a team bad. In fact, it only proves how fearsome Ohio State is. In an 11-1 regular season, Ohio State had a 21.3-point average margin of victory, the fourth-biggest in the country.

The team has no shortage of standouts, headlined by wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. Harrison finished the regular season with 67 receptions for 1,211 yards and 14 touchdowns. He also recorded a rushing score this season. OSU head coach Ryan Day knows with such talent by his side, the Buckeyes are one of the best teams in the country.

“We have a very good team. We came up short today and it’s devastating. But I believe in our players,” Day said following the loss to Michigan. “I think we have a veteran team. I think we have a team that is solid in all three phases…I do believe this team can play with anybody in the country.”
