TreVeyon Henderson was wearing a boot following Ohio State‘s 77-21 victory over Toledo at home Saturday. The Buckeyes tailback scored a touchdown on the game’s opening drive, was taken to the locker room afterward to take a look at his leg, and did not return to the game.

Afterward, Ohio State head coach Ryan Day updated the injury to his star running back, as well as three defensive starters that were chosen to sit out due to injuries against the Rockets

“This was a situation with a lot of those guys that we just wanted to have, in the abundance of caution, and make sure that they were 100 percent before we put them in the game,” Day said of Henderson. “Same thing with Julian [Fleming] and Jaxon [Smith-Njigba]. We got them some reps and then kind of got them out of there, so that was good.

“There were a few guys that were struggling with a couple of things that we decided to hold on [against Toledo].”

Starting safeties Josh Proctor and Tanner McCalister were two other names that were help out during the Toledo blowout, as well as star defensive tackle Mike Hall Jr.

“[Proctor, McAlister and Hall] were all available,” Day said. “We felt like this was the right thing to do coming out of warmups, but we expect them to be available for next week. There’s a handful of things that are kind of going on. We haven’t seen anything that we think would be long-term. We will kind of regroup after tonight and figure out where everything’s at.”

WATCH: Julian Fleming reels in beautiful five-yard touchdown catch vs Toledo

Saturday night’s game was the first game back from injury for Ohio State wide receiver Julian Fleming. It didn’t take long for the gifted receiver to make a splash. Check out this beautiful catch he made along the right side of the end zone against Toledo, showing off tremendous body control.

Buckeyes quarterback C.J. Stroud rolled to his right and tossed a beauty to the former five-star prospect.

The touchdown catch plus the extra-point gave the Buckeyes 28 points in the first quarter and they were up on Toledo, 28-7. The Rockets have been battling and it’s currently 28-14 in the second quarter, but there is simply too much firepower in Ohio State’s offensive arsenal.

Like many of the other Ohio State wide receivers, Fleming was one of the most highly touted receivers in the country coming out of high school. He was rated as the No. 1 wide receiver in America, according to the On3 Consensus Rankings for the 2020 cycle.
