Draper (Utah) Corner Canyon quarterback Devin Brown has been solidly committed to USC for more than a year, but this weekend he’s visiting Ole Miss.

Brown, the No. 73 overall player in the 2022 On3 Consensus rankings, tweeted a picture Saturday morning with 2024 national quarterback prospect Elijah Brown.

Despite saying over the summer that wouldn’t take any other visits after committing to USC, Brown visited BYU, UCLA and Ole Miss within the past three weeks. The Trojans fired head coach Clay Helton in mid-September, and they likely won’t name a full-time successor until the end of the season.

Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin, who was infamously fired on a tarmac at USC, has taken advantage. He offered Devin Brown soon after, and assistant coach Jeff Lebby visited Brown two weekends ago in Utah.

Ole Miss still searching for 2022 QB

Kiffin, considered one of the foremost offensive minds and quarterback “gurus” in the country, is still looking for one in the 2022 class. Along with Brown, Ole Miss has targeted former Cal commit Justyn Martin, who visited on Sept. 18 and will see UCLA in two weeks.

Kiffin has had major success with another former USC commit, Matt Corral. Instead, he ended up at Ole Miss, where he won the starting job as a redshirt freshman. After some major struggles, he lost the starting job before Kiffin was hired in late 2019. However, Kiffin named him the starter last season and Corral has turned into a legitimate Heisman contender for the No. 13 Rebels.

Devin Brown is putting up numbers

After transferring into Corner Canyon from Queen Creek (Ariz.) for his senior season, Brown has been on a tear throwing the ball. He has completed 69 percent of his pass attempts for 2,894 yards and 32 touchdowns in eight games. He follows in the steps of current USC quarterback Jaxson Dart, who also starred for Corner Canyon in 2020.

Brown was named one of the top performers of Elite 11 Finals in Los Angeles this summer alongside Clemson commit Cade Klubnik. Brown chose USC over offers from Oregon State, Northwestern and Michigan State.
