PRESSER | Ole Miss Football Accepts Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl Invitation

Some key pieces on the Ole Miss football roster have already made the decision to return for next season following a 10-win campaign this fall. Will quarterback Jaxson Dart be one of them?

That remains to be seen. The veteran is taking his time in making that decision.

“Yeah as of right now I’m really just focused on the bowl game,” Dart said. “We’re going to take that decision as a family decision. There’s a time and place for that, but right now I’m just fully focused on the bowl game and winning this game.”

Dart is coming off a monster season, one in which he led the Rebels to 10 regular-season wins.

He threw for 2,985 yards and 20 touchdowns, against just five interceptions. He also ran for 377 yards and seven touchdowns.

Most analysts consider him a quality NFL Draft prospect, though it’s a deep quarterback class and that may cause Dart to think long and hard about what a potential return to school could do for him.

Tre Harris, Caden Prieskorn returning to Ole Miss

In the event Jaxson Dart decides to remain at Ole Miss, he’ll have a couple of his top targets back.

Wide receiver Tre Harris and tight end Caden Prieskorn have both already announced they’ll be back next fall as the SEC expands to 16 teams.

Harris spent the first three seasons of his career at Louisiana Tech, transferring to Ole Miss following his 2022 breakout season with the Bulldogs where he caught 65 passes for 935 yards and 10 touchdowns, earning All-Conference USA First-Team honors.

He entered the 2023 season making the 2023 Biletnikoff Award Preseason Watch List and the 2024 Reese’s Senior Bowl Watch List, and surely lived up to the hype in his first season with the Rebels. Harris ended the regular season with 47 receptions, 851 yards, and eight touchdowns.

Prieskorn transferred to Ole Miss this offseason after spending the first three years of his collegiate career at Memphis. He joined the Tigers as a walk-on then broke out in his junior season with 48 receptions for 602 yards and seven touchdowns, named a semifinalist for the Mackey Award.

Following his breakout season for Memphis he joined the Rebels ahead of the 2023 season, entering the year as a Preseason All-SEC Third Team selection and landing a spot on the Mackey Award Preseason Watch List. He ended the 2023 regular season with 20 receptions, 313 yards, and two scores which earned him Second-Team All-SEC honors and a selection on the 2024 Reese’s Senior Bowl Watch List.
