The video has already been meme’d extensively and is surely recognizable to anyone who has been on the college football spaces of social media. And Ole Miss used the video of Brian Kelly and then LSU-recruit Walker Howard awkwardly attempting to dance as ammo for a postgame troll following a 55-49 win in Oxford.

The video, which had been thoroughly “deep fried” — an online term for over-saturating colors and other effects to artfully lower the quality — is also a twisting of the knife on more than the win. Howard had transferred to Ole Miss this offseason.

Some clever troll work from the Ole Miss social media team, especially by posting the video as a quote to the LSU post of the final score.

Things got ugly, briefly, in Oxford after an LSU touchdown

Ole Miss fans were not happy after a call late in the fourth quarter did not go in their favor and took their frustrations out on LSU players. Fans began to throw trash from the stands toward the Tigers sidelines as beer cans and water bottles were seen on the field.

The call in question was a 34-yard touchdown catch from Brian Thomas Jr. Thomas caught the ball in the corner of the end zone and clearly got his left foot down but bobbled the ball. It looked as if he didn’t have clear possession, but officials disagreed as the original ruling of a touchdown stood and LSU increased its lead to 49-40.

Tigers coach Brian Kelly voiced his frustrations to officials about the behavior from fans and an announcement was made in the stadium warning them to stop.

With that behind it, the Ole Miss offense got to work in mounting its comeback. The Rebels seemed unfazed by the call that occurred just moments earlier, as they marched 65 yards downfield to answer with a touchdown of their own to make it 49-47 with five minutes remaining.

They then got the ball back as the defense forced the Tigers to punt.

Ole Miss ran some time off the clock early before leaning on quarterback Jaxson Dart the rest of the way. Dart completed all three of his passes on that final drive, including what was ultimately a game-winning 13-yard connection with Tre Harris with 39 seconds remaining.

LSU still had a a chance to come away with the win, but the Rebels defense came up big when it needed to. The Tigers got all the way down to the Ole Miss 16-yard line with 12 seconds remaining after the Rebels dropped an interception a couple plays prior. But the final pass from Jayden Daniels to the end zone fell incomplete as Ole Miss hung on for a 55-49 victory in front of a record crowd of 66,703.

“I’m really happy for our players and our fans,” coach Lane Kiffin told ESPN postgame. “Electric atmosphere. This ain’t about me. Our players played their butts off and we stopped them when we needed to.”
