South Carolina HC Shane Beamer visits 2025 5-star WR Jaime Ffrench
Add South Carolina head coach Shane Beamer to the ever-growing list of visitors that Jacksonville Mandarin five-star wide receiver Jaime Ffrench has had over the past week.
The Gamecocks skipper made his way to the Sunshine State to visit Ffrench — who decommitted from Alabama just over a week ago on Jan. 14 — alongside SC receivers Justin Stepp:
South Carolina has not been in the mix for the 6-foot-1, 185-pounder, but following Ffrench’s decommitment from the Crimson Tide, just about each and every program in the nation is looking to get involved.
Kirby Smart, Mario Cristobal and Billy Napier have all visited Ffrench since he came back on the board, while the likes of USC, Oklahoma and Colorado have all extended offers. Over the weekend, Ffrench visited Florida State.
Florida State gunning for Ffrench’s pledge
Ffrench has been vocal about his positive relationship with Mike Norvell and the Seminoles. His Mandarin teammate, three-star quarterback Tramell Jones, is already committed to FSU, adding another appealing layer to the in-state program.
“I love the way he recruits you, it’s hard to tell Florida State no, it’s hard to tell Coach Norvell no,” Ffrench told On3’s Sam Spiegelman earlier this month. “Tramell jokes around a lot and there’s a lot of Florida State stuff that we knick-knack about.”
“The tradition, the chemistry, the program, the people in the program, you know, all that plays a factor in recruitment. Especially with how they put the ball in the air, definitely,” Ffrench told Warchant of FSU after his trip to Tallahassee.
Following the visit, FSU recruiting insider Matt LaSerre logged a pick in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM) in favor of the Seminoles landing Ffrench, who is also set to visit Miami this upcoming weekend.
Ffrench is the No. 14 overall prospect and No. 3 WR in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 2 player in Florida.
Ffrench has an On3 NIL Valuation of $138K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
As for Beamer and the Gamecocks, just one 2025 prospect has pledged to SC, as of Jan. 22. Florence (S.C.) South three-star wide receiver Jayden Sellers did so on Oct. 26. He is the No. 514 recruit and No. 7 player in the Palmetto State.
