With the addition of Chester (Va.) Thomas Dale four-star cornerback Shamari Earls on Saturday, South Carolina has jumped 10 spots up to No. 22 in the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.

The Gamecocks also rank 11th in the SEC for the 2025 recruiting cycle.

Earls is the nation’s No. 124 overall prospect, No. 12 cornerback and No. 4 recruit from Virginia in the 2025 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

On3 rates Earls higher than the other major recruiting services. He ranks No. 70 overall and No. 9 among cornerbacks in the 2025 On300.

“Coaches love my film and love how explosive I am – my size and athleticism,” Earls told On3. “Coaches also say my good grades play a big part in being the complete player they covet.”

South Carolina Class Breakdown

Things have finally started to pick up for Beamer’s pledge list this month, as now four prospects have committed to USC in April. Earls is now the highest-rated prospect in the class.

Concord (N.C.) Jay M Robinson four-star wide receiver Brian Rowe was the lone blue-chipper in the fold before Earls. He committed on April 9 and was followed by Abbeville (S.C.) three-star safety Damarcus Leach less than 24 hours later. Sumter (S.C.) three-star EDGE Anthony Addison then joined two days later on April 12.

“I love how they plan on using me,” Addison told On3 upon his commitment. “It is close to home. It is only 50 minutes, so I know all my family will be able to come and see me. Coach Beamer, he stayed on me. I know I am going somewhere where the head coach believes in me and believes in what I can do.”

South Florence (S.C.) three-star WR Jayden Sellers has been pledged to the Gamecocks since October. The quartet of commits currently ranks No. 31 in the nation and No. 12 in the SEC, according to the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.
