Another former South Carolina player is joining Frank Martin at UMass after entering the transfer portal.

Wildens Leveque took to Twitter on Monday to announce his commitment to the Minutemen after three years with the Gamecocks. He’s the second South Carolina transfer to re-join Martin after TaQuan Woodley committed April 4.

Leveque is coming off his best scoring year with the Gamecocks, averaging 6.6 points to go with 4.7 rebounds in a career-high 21 minutes per contest this year. He started 28 of 29 games in 2021-22.

It’s also not unfamiliar territory for Leveque. He grew up in Massachusetts and attended high school in Maine, and became a top-40 power forward in the country from the Class of 2019, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

South Carolina forward Keyshawn Bryant makes decision on future

South Carolina forward Keyshawn Bryant has declared for the 2022 NBA Draft and hired an agent, according to a post on his social media page. After starting 72 of 98 games over four seasons with the Gamecocks, he has decided not to use his free year of eligibility made available during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Keyshawn Bryant enters the NBA Draft after averaging 9.9 points and 4.3 rebounds at South Carolina. His best season came in 2020-21 when he averaged 14.4 points and 5.4 rebounds under previous head coach Frank Martin.

The 6-foot-5 forward came to South Carolina as a three-star recruit who was ranked No. 175 in the country in the 2018 On3 Consensus and the No. 16 player in his home state of Florida. He chose the Gamecocks over Memphis, Wichita State and others coming out of high school.

In addition to his announcement that he would enter the NBA Draft and hire an agent, Keyshawn Bryant offered a statement to South Carolina fans and those who have helped him reach this point.

“University of South Carolina, this journey has been nothing but life changing for me. First I would like to give praise to the Lord because none of this is possible without him. I would like to thank my family and friends for always having my back through times.

“To Frank Martin and the coaching staff thank you guys for everything you’ve done. To the fans and the university, this was an amazing four year’s here. Thanks for all the love and support. You guys made this an incredible experience for me.

“However my time here has come to end. I will be entering the 2022 NBA Draft and plan on hiring an agent.”
