Syracuse offers 2023 On3 Consensus No. 1 RB Rueben Owens
Syracuse has extended an offer to El Campo (Texas) four-star running back Rueben Owens.
According to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. Owens is the No. 24 overall player and No. 1 running back in the 2023 cycle.
While the Orange are not among the football powerhouses that have caught his eye so far — Alabama, Georgia, Texas, Texas A&M and USC are five teams he talked about with Joseph Hastings of Clemson Sports — they are a program rife with running back history.
The latest Syracuse star out of the backfield is Sean Tucker. Tucker had a phenomenal sophomore season, rushing for a single-season team record of 1,496 yards.
He was named All-ACC first team and was named as a first-team All-American by ESPN and the Football Writers Association of America.
