Ohio State center transfer Felix Okpara visited Tennessee over the last two days, according to On3’s Joe Tipton.

Okpara started 34 of 35 games for the Buckeyes this season, averaging just over six points and six rebounds per game as a strong inside force for OSU. He was also a terrific rim protector, having blocked 2.4 shots per game as well.

As a member of the Class of 2022, Okpara was a four-star recruit out of Chattanooga (Tenn.) Link Year Prep (M.O.), according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He was the No. 4 overall prospect in Missouri, the No. 9 center in the class and the No. 69 overall prospect in the class.

Okpara’s decision to transfer came as a complete counter to what he said at the beginning of the month. On April 1st, fittingly, April Fool’s Day, Okpara announced that he would return to OSU next season.

“I am excited and grateful to announce that I am 100% committed to running it back with OSU and Buckeye Nation!” Okpara said via Twitter. “Can’t wait to start a new chapter with Coach Diebs, my returning teammates, and the new staff and players to get to Ohio State back to our rightful spot at the top of the Big Ten.”

To keep up with the latest players on the move, check out On3’s Transfer Portal wire

The NCAA Transfer Portal, which covers every NCAA sport at the Division I, II and III levels, is a private database with names of student-athletes who wish to transfer. It is not accessible to the public.

The process of entering the portal is done through a school’s compliance office. Once a player provides written notification of an intent to transfer, the office enters the player’s name in the database and everything is off and running. The compliance office has 48 hours to comply with the player’s request and that request cannot be refused.
