Tennessee safety Wesley Walker enters the transfer portal

Wesley Walker, a safety at Tennessee, has elected to enter the transfer portal after two seasons in Knoxville.

Walker started his career at Georgia Tech where he spent three years with the Yellow Jackets. He then returned to his home state to play for the Volunteers during the past two. In total, he has made 46 appearances with 25 starts.

In that time, Walker has posted 184 tackles in his career with a dozen deflections, three forced fumbles, a sack, and an interception. 89 tackles, six deflection, a pair of sacks, a forced fumble, and a pick came during his time on Rocky Top with him putting up some of his career-best numbers with the Vols.

Walker played high school football at Ensworth (TN) where he was a three-star prospect. He was the No. 505 overall recruit in the 2019 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He finished as a Top-50 safety in his class and just inside the Top-20 for players out of Tennessee.
