Former Texas A&M wide receiver Evan Stewart is continuing to make waves as he remains in the transfer portal.

Stewart spent two seasons in College Station, where he hauled in 90 passes for more than 1,100 yards and six touchdowns for the Aggies. However, he decided to move on from the program, and called out Texas A&M on social media on Tuesday.

The former Aggies wide receiver posted on X (formerly known as Twitter) that he’s hoping for a better training staff to deal with both his physical injuries and his mental health wherever he ends up next. It seems as if Stewart had some problems with the team at Texas A&M.

“Where ever I go, I just hope the training staff can tell me the actual diagnosis of my injuries for my physical and mental health (prayer hands emoji),” Stewart posted on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Stewart missed a couple of games over his time with the Aggies. In 2023, he dealt with what former Aggies leader Jimbo Fisher called a “thigh bruise.” Evidently, there’s more than meets the eye regarding Stewart’s health.

Nevertheless, he’s a highly sought-after prospect in the transfer portal. According to On3’s Pete Nakos, top programs are after him. And rightfully so — Stewart played well during his two seasons in College Station while still having an incredibly high ceiling if put in the right situation.

After officially entering the portal, Alabama and Texas were the two names rumored to be in the running for Stewart. Those two were finalists in his high school recruitment before Texas A&M was ultimately the landing spot. Stewart was even committed to the Longhorns during the process.

But Nakos does not believe Stewart will wind up in Austin or Tuscaloosa. No official group has been established nor have visits been set up but non-Bama and Texas programs are going to be in the running.

“I think the best player still on the board is probably Evan Stewart,” Nakos said during Tuesday’s episode of Andy Staples On3. “I’ve heard Texas and Alabama rumored. And I’ve also been told by sources that those at not really viable options. In recent days, I’ve heard Florida State thrown out there. I’ve heard Ole Miss. I’ve heard Tennessee. I’ve heard USC. I’ve heard Oregon.

“I think we’ll get a better feel in the days to come but I will tell you right now. I don’t think he lands at Texas or Alabama.”

Time will tell, but the future remains bright for Evan Stewart, even if he’s harboring some ill-will towards the Aggies.

Evan Stewart played high school football at Frisco (Texas) Liberty, where he was a five-star prospect. He was the No. 8 overall recruit and No. 2 wide receiver in the 2022 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
