UCLA guard Jaylen Clark is out for the rest of the season with an Achilles injury, according to Stadium’s Jeff Goodman. Clark suffered the injury in the second half against Arizona on Saturday in the Bruins’ season finale.

Clark is a key players for UCLA, second on the team in points per game with 13 and widely considered to be one of the best defenders in the country. His loss is a massive blow to a UCLA team fighting to get a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament and eying a deep run in March.

However, with Pac 12 player of the year Jaime Jaquez, Tyger Campbell and a spate of other talented players, UCLA will still be a formidable out. Just not as formidable as the Bruins could’ve been with Clark in the lineup.

UCLA begins play in the Pac 12 Tournament on Thursday at 3:00 p.m. eastern, facing the winner of Washington versus Colorado.

2023 Pac-12 Basketball Tournament odds

Postseason basketball is here on the West Coast, with the Pac-12 Tournament getting underway on Wednesday. In what has been another down year for the conference, there is still time for teams to improve their NCAA Tournament resume.

T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas is the site this season, spanning over four days. Odds for the Pac-12 Tournament have been released, with the favorite not being too big of a surprise. UCLA is looking to double up on conference championships this season, winning the outright regular season one.

Only one other team, Arizona, has been given a realistic shot of competing. With the two on opposite sides of the bracket, it’s clear who the oddsmakers expect to see in the championship game come Saturday night.

Note: These odds were released after Clark suffered his injury, but prior to the severity becoming clear.
