USC has plenty new faces on offense as Lincoln Riley looks to mesh everyone together in year one. With established college football stars Caleb Williams and Jordan Addison leading the way, the Trojans look primed to find immediate success in the Pac-12 as the duo shows off for NFL scouts.

During a recent media session, Jordan Addison made it clear that winning the Biletnikoff Award was a goal of his entering the 2021 season but identified a new goal which has occupied his time since transferring from Pitt to USC this offseason.

“Yeah, that was a goal that I had down,” said Addison. “Moving forward, I want it again. But right now I’m just putting the team first. I’m at a new school right now so I’m trying to make sure they – you feel me – that we fit in together. We’re all close. So right now I’m just putting the team first and making sure that they know that.”

The team-first approach to the preseason and beyond from a player with Addison’s list of accomplishments could go a long way in the locker room. From veterans who see the new face coming in, to the underclassmen looking up to an NFL prospect, they can see the mentality each day.

Jordan Addison on importance of jersey number

The USC Trojans got reigning Biletnikoff Award winner Jordan Addison behind the camera to reveal why and how he got the No. 3 jersey for the 2022 season. Former Trojans star quarterback Carson Palmer used to wear No. 3 and the wide receiver had to check in with him first to make sure he wasn’t stepping on the legend’s toes.

“I had got his number from Lincoln (Riley), he told me I had to check in with him to wear the number,” Addison said. “So, he got us on the phone. We had a great conversation and he gave me his blessing on wearing the number. I really appreciate him and I’m going to show him why him giving me the number was the best decision.

“I watched a little bit of his tape before I called him just to get a little bit more about what he did in college because I’d seen what he did in the pros. That conversation went really well though. He told me he didn’t just want to give his number to anybody. He wanted to make sure I was the right fit character-wise. It really means a lot to be wearing the number that a Heisman Trophy winner wore when he played here.”
