USC can’t wait to kickstart the Lincoln Riley era.

So much so, the Trojans are counting down the days. Earlier this week, USC Football released a hype video to announce we’re 100 days away from Riley making his debut as the leader of the program.

“100 Days Until Kickoff,” tweeted USC Football, accompanying the video.

Weaving in and out of Riley’s words, historic highlights and intense music, it’s hard not to get excited for the coach’s debut with the program after watching the aforementioned video. Many have theorized that the Oklahoma coach leaving for the Pac-12 will change the face of college football, and bring the Trojans back to prominence.

Moreover, Riley’s first game with USC will take place Sept. 6 against Rice, a primetime showdown where USC faithful can show up and let the former Oklahoma coach know he made the right decision. It’ll be a huge game for Riley’s squad to get their wits about them, as a road game against David Shaw’s Stanford team awaits them the week after.

Nevertheless, Southern California can’t wait to see Lincoln Riley manning the sidelines for the Trojans. The countdown to one of the biggest storylines of the college football season beginning is on.

CBS explains why Brent Venables, Lincoln Riley are most likely to win big early

One of the highest-profile coaching changes came at Oklahoma as Lincoln Riley left for USC and Brent Venables came in from Clemson. Expectations are coming in for both teams, and one writer thinks both teams are set up for early success.

CBS Sports’ Chip Patterson released his early predictions and argued both the Trojans and Sooners can get off and running under the new regimes. USC hit the transfer portal hard this offseason and landed Caleb Williams and Jordan Addison — the No. 1 and No. 2 transfers, respectively, according to the On3 Transfer Portal Rankings.

“The way Riley utilized the transfer portal has allowed USC’s offense to quickly become one of the most dangerous in the entire country, raising the ceiling even more with the recent addition of Biletnikoff Award winner and 2021 All-American Jordan Addison,” Patterson wrote. “Belief in Riley flipping the switch in Los Angeles does require a lot of confidence in Alex Grinch bringing the defense up to speed — or at least playing well enough to get stops against the best Pac-12 teams — but the defensive coordinator’s history provides evidence that it can be done.”
