USC edge Romello Height has entered the transfer portal, On3 has learned.

Height started his career at Auburn where he spent two season on The Plains. He then transferred and joined the Trojans under Lincoln Riley for the past two campaigns. In those four seasons, he has made over 20 appearances overall as part of both programs.

In total, Height has posted 39 tackles, four sacks, and a fumble recovery while in college. All of that essentially came during his second season with the Tigers and this past season in Los Angeles.

A season-ending injury to his shoulder cut his first year short at USC. Then, in 2023, he returned to produce career-bests with 21 tackles, all four of his sacks, and the recovery. The four sacks were third-best on the team this fall.

Height played high school football at Dublin (GA) where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 347 overall recruit in the 2020 cycle. That’s according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He finished as a Top-50 LB in the class and a Top-50 player out of the state of Georgia.

Height is the 22nd portal loss for the Trojans in this cycle. He is one of nine defensive players to transfer and the second defensive end to do so alongside Korey Foreman (Fresno State).

In turn, USC has added 11 transfers that make up the No. 31 class according to On3’s 2024 Team Transfer Portal Rankings. Seven from that group play on the defensive side of the ball for D’Anton Lynn, the new defensive coordinator for the Trojans, to work with next season.
