The USC Trojans dominated the Colorado Buffaloes on Thursday night to the tune of an 84-65 beatdown. Not only did the Trojans rout the Buffaloes, they did so with their new head football coach, Deion Sanders, in the house to watch the performance. With the win, The Trojans won their 20th game of the year, giving them their fourth straight 20-win season under head coach Andy Enfield. It’s the first time in program history that the Trojans have won four straight 20-win seasons.

USC had five players score in double-figures in the blowout: Reese Dixon-Waters (15 points), Tre White (10 points), Boogie Ellis (21 points), Kobe Johnson (15 points), and Drew Peterson (11 points). It’s been very impressive what Andy Enfield has accomplished with the Trojans during his time there, but it’s not surprising to anyone who’s followed his promising coaching career.

Not only did the win make program history, but it assured that USC will keep its current spot in the 2023 NCAA Tournament. In the latest version of his Bracketology, ESPN’s bracket expert Joe Lunardi listed USC as one of the “Last Four In” teams.

In the 2021-2022 season, USC went 26-8 overall and earned an NCAA Tournament berth. That win total tied the school record. Enfield was one of the hottest coaches in college basketball before he came to USC. He was the head coach for Florida Gulf Coast, where he led the Eagles to a school record 26 wins in 2013, including a victory over No. 5 Miami.

He went 41-28 during his two seasons with FGCU, and his teams played an exciting brand of basketball that was nicknamed “Dunk City”, thanks to their up-tempo offense that featured spectacular dunks and alley-oops.

The Trojans will finish out their regular season against Utah, Arizona, and Arizona State. Their matchup with Utah is on Saturday, Feb. 25th. That game will begin at 8:00 PM EST and will be nationally televised on ESPNU.
