The USC Trojans landed one of the best players in all of college football this offseason via the transfer portal when they reeled in the 2021 Biletnikoff Award winner, Jordan Addison, from the Pittsburgh Panthers. On Wednesday afternoon, the Trojans decided to give their superstar the royal treatment and allow him to wear former Heisman Trophy winner Carson Palmer’s jersey number. It was previously retired and hasn’t been worn since 2002. Until now.

Looking ahead to the 2023 NFL Draft, new USC Trojans offensive weapon Jordan Addison has already established himself as a likely first-rounder.

Pro Football Focus recently broke down team needs for all 32 NFL teams to determine where Addison could land next spring. Although there are several teams that could use a proven play-maker like the former Pitt star, PFF chose the Indianapolis Colts as his perfect fit.

“With two big-bodied playmakers on the outside, the Colts are still missing that natural separator,” PFF’s Michael Renner writes. “Even if Parris Campbell does somehow turn into that guy this fall, he’s in a contract year and is no guarantee to stay. Addison may not be imposing physically, but the dude can run routes in his sleep. It’s why he was your Biletnikoff Award winner last fall as just a sophomore.”

Addison had 1,593 yards and 17 touchdowns before entering the portal just ahead of the May 1 deadline. At USC with Caleb Williams, he has the opportunity to shine in the Power Five and move even further up the draft board.

In PFF’s way-too-early 2023 mock draft, they have the new Trojan coming off the board at No. 21 overall.
