This week, rumors made their way across social media about Wisconsin star Braelon Allen considering entering the transfer portal. The Badgers are in the midst of a coaching change after firing Paul Chryst and naming defensive coordinator Jim Leonhard the interim head coach.

Multiple players have announced plans to enter the portal after the change, and based on the rumors, Allen could be one of the next. He directly addressed whispers that he could transfer to Michigan during an appearance on 97.3 The Game on Friday.

“The only thing I can really say for me is on Wisconsin,” Allen told “The Drew and K.B. Show,” via The Athletic’s Jesse Temple. “And as long as Coach Leonhard is here, that’s where I’ll be.”

Michigan has emerged as a potential suitor for Allen if he ends up deciding to enter the portal, at least in the eyes of many online. The Wolverines are gearing up to lose star running back Blake Corum after the season and will still still have Donovan Edwards on the roster next year.

Allen is putting together another strong season as a follow-up to his impressive freshman campaign. He has rushed for 989 yards and 10 touchdowns to lead the Wisconsin offense amid the up-and-down season. The Badgers take a 5-4 record into this week’s game against Iowa in Iowa City.

Allen, a former linebacker, burst onto the scene last year as a true freshman, rushing for 1,268 yards and 12 touchdowns to help Wisconsin to a 9-4 overall record and a 6-3 mark in Big Ten play in 2021. For his efforts, he earned second team All-Big Ten honors and was a two-time conference freshman of the week. He’s a former four-star recruit and was the No. 1 recruit in the state of Wisconsin from the class of 2021, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
