Wisconsin star linebacker Jordan Turner was ejected on Saturday evening in the fourth quarter of the Buffalo vs. Wisconsin game. Turner was ejected in the second half of the game, which means he will miss the first half of next week’s game against the Washington State Cougars. It’s a big loss.

The Michigan native started 11 games in 2022, ranking second on the team in total tackles with 65. He earned Defensive MVP honors at the Guaranteed Rate Bowl.

After redshirting as a true freshman in 2020, Turner played in six games in 2021 and all 13 for Wisconsin in 2022. He has three career interceptions and 74 total tackles.

The Badgers ended up winning Saturday night’s game after they ran for over 300 total rushing yards (312 yards and four touchdowns) in a 38-17 win over the Bulls. Chez Mellusi piled up 157 rushing yards and two touchdowns in the win. Braelon Allen did most of his work in the second half, finishing with 141 rushing yards and two touchdowns. He also delivered some punishing hits on defenders in the open field, as he’s done the past few years.

Mellusi ripped off an 89-yard touchdown run that was the highlight of the game. He juked several Buffalo defenders on his way to the end zone.

Washington State is facing Colorado State on Saturday night, before taking on the Badgers next weekend (Sept. 9) in Pullman, Washington. Kickoff for that one is slated for 7:30 PM EST.

Turner had to deal with some legal troubles this offseason.

The suspension of Wisconsin linebacker Jordan Turner did not last long. Turner was reinstated to the program in July, according to Jeff Potrykus.

Turner was suspended only 10 days after he was cited for Operating While Intoxicated (OWI) — also known as drinking and driving.

Jordan Turner also received several other citations. He released a statement through Potrykus late last month.

“Earlier this week, I was cited with an OWI first offense along with additional traffic violations. My parents raised me to do the right things in life and unfortunately this time, I didn’t. I made the wrong decision. I’m very disappointed and embarrassed and I want to personally apologize to my parents, my teammates, my coaches, the fans and the University of Wisconsin. I take this matter very seriously and I vow to learn from this and be a better man going forward,” Turner said in the statement.
