USC coach Lincoln Riley believes Bear Alexander's best football is still ahead of him. Alexander emerged from the high school ranks as a top 10 defensive line prospect, but he played only sparingly during his freshman season at Georgia. Then he transferred to USC, where he made an immediate impact recording 48 tackles, including 6.5 tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks. He tied for the team lead with four quarterback hurries and had two pass deflections. Even with that resume, he still has plenty of room to grow, according to Riley. "You gotta remind people he played sparingly his true freshman year at Georgia," Riley said. "I mean he played for us here year one and then he missed all of spring because of an injury. Bear is still very young on the football field. Bear's still got a long way to go. He is definitely getting better fast, no question about it. And the sky is the limit. He's still not reached the level that we expect him – and he expects himself – to be."
