Verified 6-foot-1, 200 pounds in January 2026, with very reasonable growth to his listed 6-foot-2, 205 in that time frame given his class. That's solid size for the position already, on a denser, athletic build, and ideally he grows another inch or two over the next couple of years. The verified testing is respectable without being special: a 4.93 in the 40, a stronger 4.64 shuttle, a great 8-foot-10 broad jump, and a 24.73 in the 200m. There's definite room for improvement there, but he's not a poor athlete by any means at this stage. He has good velocity and…
Top Attributes
- Great arm strength and velocity on the football, especially given his classification - Excellent ability to navigate and maneuver from within the pocket - Improvisational ability to create from outside of structure with his arm or his legs
Areas to Develop
- Continue working on throwing with anticipation and throwing his receivers open - Tighten up arm action and work on speeding up and shortening his release - Would like to see him continue to improve his overall athletic ability
Film Review Notes
Able to watch the latest sophomore film and Stephenson has great arm talent and velocity especially for a 2029 prospect. Solid release and the ball jumps out of his hand. Places the football extremely well and has tremendous accuracy at every level of the field. Does an excellent job navigating the pocket and feeling pressure. Effectively escapes pressure and is able to improvise on the move. Does a good job of keeping his eyes downfield when rolling out. Can turn into a dynamic ball carrier with the ball in his hands and is a solid overall athlete, especially for his age and size. Would like to see him tighten up his release and work on getting the ball out quicker. He tends to drop the football on release and wind up instead of keeping it short. Could be something that shortens as he continues to get stronger. Want to see him throw with a bit more anticipation. Looks like he holds on to the football a touch too long in order to confirm his target is open, as opposed to throwing the ball into space where he knows his receiver will break into. Very toolsy quarterback prospect at this stage. Has quality size and is more than a functional athlete who can push the ball vertically. Has the physical and athletic tools for the position at an early stage in his career.
