TravisShaw

Travis Shaw is a two-sport star at Grimsley. On the football field as a junior, he led Grimsley to a 10-0 record and the North Carolina Class 4A state title in the spring. He also averaged 6.5 points, 7.6 rebounds and 2 assists in basketball in 2021. Grimsley head coach Darryl Brown said he first noticed Shaw’s athletic ability on the basketball court as a seventh-grader. “When I walked into the gym, Travis was at the top of the key dribbling the basketball. I saw him dribble, move, make a no-look pass, and I knew then he was special. I watched him play basketball for a few minutes, and I was like, ‘Who in the world is this?’ He was different then, and he has only gotten better.” Brown also describes Shaw as a “dynamic personality” that has been a “great leader” for his program. Shaw plans on majoring in math in college. He lists his hobby as playing video games.
