In March, ESPN and Omaha Productions announced their plans for the four-part “Full Court Press” docuseries. It would follow three women’s basketball players – Caitlin Clark, Kamilla Cardoso and Kiki Rice – through the 2023-24 season with interviews and a behind-the-scenes look at what turned out to be a record-breaking year.

Ahead of the premiere May 11, Omaha Productions released the first teaser.

“Full Court Press” will debut on ABC and ESPN+ with a two-part premiere on May 11 and the final two parts the next day, May 12. By following Clark and Cardoso, the show followed two of the top three picks in the WNBA Draft, while Rice provided a look at the future of women’s college basketball as she went through her sophomore season. According to a release from ESPN, the docuseries will include Iowa’s historic preseason game at Kinnick Stadium and document the draft last month.

“I remember what it meant to the University of Tennessee and the entire state when Pat Summitt led the Lady Vols to back-to-back national titles during my time in Knoxville,” said Peyton Manning, founder of Omaha Productions, in a statement announcing the series. “We’re excited to share the stories of these three amazing women to a national audience at this incredible moment for women’s basketball.”

“Full Court Press” is directed by Kristen Lappas, who has worked on ESPN’s 30 for 30 series. It’s the latest docuseries to focus on women’s collegiate sports. Prime Video greenlit “The Money Game” documentary in January, which will be an exclusive, all-access pass to the 2023-24 athletic season inside LSU athletics. LSU basketball stars Angel Reese and Flau’jae Johnson are starring with gymnast Livvy Dunne and quarterback Jayden Daniels.

A star-studded group stars in ‘Full Court Press’

Caitlin Clark, of course, is the biggest name of the three players featured in the series. The NCAA’s all-time leading scorer, she captivated the nation with her logo three-pointers and ability to make tough passes to set up her teammates as Iowa made a run to the national championship. The Indiana Fever then, as expected, took her as the No. 1 pick in the WNBA Draft.

Clark and Kamilla Cardoso went head-to-head in the national championship game, which drew nearly 19 million viewers to cap off a historic run. Cardoso, the 6-foot-7 center who brought home her second title in three years with the Gamecocks before going No. 3 overall to the Chicago Sky.

As the two stars head to the W, Kiki Rice is among the list of names to watch as the next generation takes over. She was the first college athlete to sign an endorsement deal with Jordan Brand as part of an NIL deal and is getting ready for her sophomore season at UCLA. This time around, though, she’ll be playing in the Big Ten after a groundbreaking round of conference realignment.
